Installation not working on mac

Anyone else who have experienced that Terraforming Mars will not download correctly? I have tried to uninstall and install again and again. One second after I have clicked install a dialog pops up saying the game is now installed (very fast - to good to be true right) and when I then click to start the game - it gives an error, saying the TerraformingMars.app executable is missing - and that an update caused the error. What to do???

I wonder why they didn't let us play on macOS from beta channel

Running Mac OS X 10.15: I purchased terraforming mars on June 28th, it didn't work. I kept getting a "missing executable" error. I uninstalled and eventually got it working when I signed up for the Beta program and installed that. I worked through the tutorial twice but on the third occasion I could no longer launch the game. It had actually disappeared from my computer not through my actions. Once again I uninstalled and followed the previous procedure that worked but not this time. I cannot now get a beta download. Any ideas?

The developers closed the loophole you were using. I wish they would explain why.

There is a little apple logo that allows one to filter for apps which will work on a Mac. TM is still there. The installer happily completes installation on Mac ... and of course nothing happens because no application was installed. Very frustrating. It would be so easy for Steam to fix this, and save a bunch of wasted time for all the folks puzzling over why the game in not working on their Mac - game which was advertised to be working on Mac. Sigh

You could give them some motivation to care. As long as the money comes in, there must be no problem. This entire thread has been ignored by Steam and Asmodee.

so, i'm getting this message today. Game has been playing ok, but now getting the .app executable is missing. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no luck. Checked my local folder, no files in there.... Something obviously not right

Getting the same missing executable error on macOS. Was able to play the Mac beta but since opting into the Prelude beta Im not able to launch the game (beta or main client). Verifying integrity and reinstalling doesn't resolve the issue.

I sent a bug report to Asmodee and received this reply:

"Thank you a lot for participating in this Beta Test for the Mac version.
Now, our teams are working on the area of improvements, stabilizing and optimizing. Please note that we will get back to you with more information about the Mac version! We have no estimated time of arrivals but keep in touch on our social media so you won't miss it ;)"

That's insane! They don't care about mac users. They know the macos works only beta version and don't care. I reply this message and didn't received nothing! I was totally ignored by Asmodee.

Apparently this is intentional. The beta has ended so they've disabled the beta channel so it will no longer work but haven't release a main channel version for Mac. Not sure if it's actively being worked on or just shelved but unfortunately it looks like we're out of luck for the time being. Which is somewhat disheartening since it didn't actually seem substantially more buggy than the game on any of the other platforms in my experience.
