Cursor on main menu not appearing

Guys ive been having this issue for a while now and I havent been able to game on any of my counter strike games (1.6, CZ, and Source) which is unfortunate because i would always kill time using my laptop. So anytime im at the main menu or launch the game i have no visablity to my cursor but when i run my mouse around i can hear the cursor passing over the options on the bottom left corner.
Anyone else dealing with this issue?

Your game graphic settings exceeds what your pc resolution can handle. Try lowering it or messing around with the vid settings and see what happens. You can use the tab button once you're in the gui menu of the game.

I am experiencing the same thing.

After an hour of searching with no success, I realized the cursor was also missing in the shift+tab steam overlay, while the game was running.

And searching for the mouse missing in the overlay, I found a solution:
Disable Mouse Pointer Trails:
Win+R
type:
main.cpl {hit enter)
Go to the Pointer Options Tab.
Uncheck:
Display pointer trails

This worked for me, restoring the missing cursor when the game was running.
