As fire uses lots of damage over time, that will suit you well.
Next (or first, you decide) go down ice until you get tower shield. This, and the shield against fire and storm before that, will help you stay alive a little longer while your damage ticks through.
Furthermore, the ice attack spells will help against fire mobs with high fire ressistance.
After that you should be around lv30 I think, and then have enough experience to chose your next spells.
There are also spells from other trainers, like for example reshuffle at colossus boulevard, or traps and blades in krokotopia, it would also be good to get these.
About equipment:
There is a shop where the three streets meet, where you can find lots of stuff and also sell your equipment you don't need (it usually pays better than NPCs).
Players put their items on sale there and others can buy them.
Just mark "usable" on the bottom to only show what you can wear and check it out.
The stuff there usually increases every 5 levels, so you can buy at lv10, 15, 20, 25; if you have the gold.^^
At lv30, as already mentioned, you can enter mount olympus (the myth prof will give you a quest for that), where you can drop a nice set of equipment. This can not be bought or sold, so you need to do the dungeon yourself a few times, but it is a lot better than what you can buy at this level.
If you have any other questions, feel free to add me here on Steam. :)
The fairy and tower shield got suggested by almost everyone I talked to (even when I didn't knew yet what class I would pick), the fact that it would go great with the fire's damage over time was my interpretation.
And yes, of course I also checked guides for equipment; although I have to say that I didn't check past lv30 once I knew that I will not miss anything important until then, that's why I didn't mention other dungeons.
I have money, so I'll be buying a sub with my new steam wiz101 account. Here is my question... Are there any gift cards/packs I can buy to give me a quick boost to level quicker?
In 2009, I originally had a fire wizard. He was quite powerful with an insane amount of damage. Of course, time has passed for him to be under leveled and weak. Later last year, I created a new fire wizard to solo on. I don't know if you're soloing or you're playing with friends, so i'm going to type out both.
Fire Wizards are strong with the ability to do damage over time and plain out strong hits. In the beginning of your journey, you will use firecat, a simple spell that hits 75% of the time. As of level 3-4, you will learn about your school and other schools. You are able to choose a "sub-class" for your wizard. I am not forcing you to choose what i think the best is. When I solo, I usually choose the life school as my subclass. I don't fully max through it as I keep my training points for star and sun spells. If you are choosing to do the life school, at least upgrade to satyr. Additionally, if you want to save pips, you can get the life amulet from the crown shop. Once you get to level 90, there is an upgraded version of the amulet, but is a boss drop. If you are playing with friends, I would recommend one person to play as a life wizard and support the team. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO BE LIFE. Death wizards can kind of heal and balance wizards can also kind of heal. Life wizards are more versatile with their healing spells.
As a fire wizard, you have to be careful around how you place your traps. For example, if you're using a flame elf, then the damage over time effect with burn up your traps. The spell fuel is useful if you want your damage over time effect to do damage. I would usually stack up on blades and elementalist blade (you get in Krokotopia).
Once you reach Celestia, there are three additional schools. As I mentioned before, there is the sun and star schools. There is also the moon school, but it isn't useful during the majority of battles. Most wizards choose the sun school because your spells will do additional damage. The star school will give a small boost to certain effects for four rounds. For example, one spell gives you 15% all damage for 4 rounds. Make sure you have the training points for the school.
Gear wise, I would recommend you to using anything you want. I recommend stacking up on damage % but you can do whatever. Once you get to level 30, head to Olympus for the Zues and Senator loot. This gear will definitely help you a lot. I don't focus much on daggers, athames, and rings, but I usually buy mine from the bazaar (olde town). I also find them from drops I randomly get. After level 30, you're going to be buffed until level 60, which will contain even better gear. Fire starter set from waterworks is one of the best sets in the game, period. At level 70, you have a choice between critical and damage. If you choose damage, you keep the fire starter set. If you choose critical, you choose the poseidon set, which is located in the Garden of Hesperaides. After that, darkmoor, a level 100 dungeon, contains good helms and robes. I don't specifically remember what is needed for a fire wizard, but usually the darkmoor robe is on the majority of wizards I face.
Friends, yes, are useful on your journey. After reaching Colossus Boulevard, you're faced with a 1v2 situation. If someone joins in, it becomes a 2v3. Once the fourth person joins, no more monsters will join in, creating a 4v4 situation. In dungeon groups, we usually put the strong hitter in the back. Next we have a healer and a person who can put traps and blades. The last person can either take hits, put traps/blades, or also do damage. In one hit boss battles, I would recommend not using damage over time spells because it will ruin a lot of traps.
In conclusion, play the way you want your fire wizard to play. I, and others, are just here to help you on your journey through the spiral. I hope you enjoy the game just like the rest of us! :)
Gift cards, or prepaid cards, are bundles that contain a pet, a home, gear, weapon, and a mount, or the prepaid gives you some crowns and a pet, or jewel. Bundles are really good early game because they have necessary items. In the late game, there is usually a fixed gear set the majority of people use. You can also stitch the gear from the bundle to a wizard by visiting Eliose. Card packs have good gear, but it is chance that you will get a specificed item. I would get these, if you don't have a gambling addiction and if you're confident you will get something good. I've spent hundreds of dollars on card packs, and some times i get something good.
Bundles help you in spells, and stats. The only things that can boost you is the exp boost elixir, which is a waste, and the level 50 potion. The level 50 potion will instantly get you to level 50, complete the main quests, and give you starting gear. I wouldn't buy any of these and just do the quest. If you're sick and tired of doing the story line over and over when making a new character, then knock yourself out (idiom :P).
