Areas STILL have to be "bought" to play them?

So, I havent played this game in a long time. My oldest daughter and I used to play together and we thought we'd go back and give it a go. I figured that so many years had passed that surely buy now all areas would be free to play and we could have a bit of fun and maybe buy some crowns and have just relax together. Boy was I wrong. Unless you are a member, you can not access well over 80% of the game... unless you pay crowns for each area. And from what I saw, it was something like over 3000 crowns for 1 area. Now, I dont mind paying to play a game, but when you advertise the game as "free to play", you guys are SERIOUSLY bordering on a lie. Yes its free, until you get to a certain low level, and then you either pay to advance, or you make a new character and start it all over. Devs, its 2019, almost 2020. Nearly all MMORPG games have become free to play and players can enjoy nearly the whole game without having to "pay to advance". Come on now, seriously? Dont you think its time to... IDK... make ALL areas free? You guys have a HUUUUGE store with all kinds of cool things to buy. Why do you have to lock almost your whole game behind some cheesy pay wall? Im sure if you actually made the game areas all free, you would have a LOT more players who would stick around instead of those, like myself, who come back to try the game after many years and find it basically exactly the same. I just do not see why you need to lock up so much of your game. The game was quite enjoyable, but it is quite dated now. *shrug* Im sure you will never make all the areas free. I just do not see forcing people to pay for a game that is this old when there are so many other free MMORPGs out there that people can play that do not lock their game behind these walls.

Well, then that needs to be clear when people get it. It isn't free, they need to label it as such.

Exactly my whole point if this. The game is NOT free. Its a DEMO to a game you HAVE to pay to play and there are a LOT of other games out there with better graphics, WAY more players, WAAAAAAAAY more content, and are TRULY free. Why the hell would anyone play this over the others?

Just chill out and just leave a bad rating, at least you took the effort to warn the others regarding the business model. I really hope I read some reviews before downloading and spending 2 hours of my life only to get slapped by a paywall @lvl 7.

There are far better competitors on the F2P genre of MMOs, among these are Warframe, Dungeon FIghter Online, Mabinogi, MapleStory among others.

The Card Battle system of the game is pretty unique tho and gives the nostalgic old school gaming feels even I'm completely new to the game. Can't really blame them, if it works then it works, so be it. Game is not for everybody.

Im chill, just having convo with other so that they know about it. I already left the review. ;) I will agree about far better choices and about unique card battles though.

NINE, that's barely even sticking your toe into the game, I'd be a little more understanding if the free content ended around 16 or maybe even 20, at least you'd have a little more taste of what the game has to offer. I feel like most new players will be turned off by the game due to the very little content they got to explore; ridiculous.

Thats my whole point of this topic. The game isnt free. Its more of a demo.

i get your point, but, i just started like. 11 days ago, have like. almost 70 hrs and its totally worth it. My gf has played since it started, she still loves it. Like. honestly if you run the f2p stuff and side quests to 10, it'll kill quite a bit of time. But, none the less, i can say for sure the membership is worth it. Crown stuff is cosmetic and by far isn't the best stuff in the game, some people try to say it is. it's really not. crafting and dungeons give you the best gear, the player base for the most part is super friendly, i'd go 10/10 max entertainment for the price. I haven't enjoyed a game more in a long, long time. And they continuously update the graphics, and new stuff coming. It's a business, they have to make money. it shouldn't be labeled as f2p though.

i use my 2012 account on steam (over 300hrs worth, my game hours should be public) and theres a guide here on how to use your original account on steam. kingsisle never had good business practices, but at the end of the day you choose to consume their product i guess. no one is happy about it, but we still choose to play it.

Finally someone who understands and loves the game as much as i do ive been playining since 2009 and i agree it shouldnt be labled f2p but the membership is so worth what there asking
