Rig:
AMD 5600X CPU
32 Gig RAM
3080 GPU
game is installed on a fast NVMe SSD (Samsung 980 pro)
I have around 1000 people divided by 3 or 4 ships. 2-3 for battle and one for storage and salvaging.
My Rig:
AMD 3600 CPU
16GB RAM
Radeon RX 580 8GB
Game is on a Crucial P5 CT1000P5SSD8 NVMe SSD
and my rig is
AMD Ryzen 5 2600X six core processor
Nvidia geforce RTX 2060 super (has 8gb vram, 16gb shared and if requested aka ssd helping a possible up to 24gb vram but that part is only for nerds, important are just the 8gb vram cause it gets significantly slower as soon pc ram and ssd/hdd helping but that never happened so far to me that the 8gb vram got used xD)
and 32gb ram o.o
here a screenshot from the nvidia center *shrugs*

i have a ship with about 520 ppls and a space station with another 200+ ppls on it =x.
When i make big asteroid and mine it it give lag. As if the asteroid checking damage...
it is a slide show now.
usually restarting the game will give u a fix.. also im not sure but ♥♥♥♥ u aint collecting just sits there cluttering the zone.. the npc ships will collect it if they need to repair but since the player almost every-time tries to destroy the npc ships he is engaging those instances in which they "clean up the mess" are less frequent so.. build a hauler just for the purpose of cleaning up.... it comes with an extra income source ;P ^^ until the dev builds in a "timer" that will despawn unused/uncollected ressources
I have a container ship with more than 400 people
I feel a noticeable drop in FPS when accelerating the magnification
It may be that my ship information is too large, or the above problems may be caused by too many resources scattered on the map.
(If that is the cause of the problems)
My System:
Ryzen 9 3950x
DDR 4 3200 16CL 32GB Ram
Zotac 3090 Geforce
x570 Gaming X Gigabyte
This game is soooooooooooo nice ..... so i hope the Performance Problems will be cleared
PS: My English is not so good, so i hope all can understand me :D
if you sum that up by all the stuff you do all the time, its just huge amounts of data that gets continiously compared which would knock out each and every cpu in time...
i might be totally wrong though, as i´m no technician, but playing on a 10 year old laptop, or a recently bought high end machine made not a big difference, neither for cosmoteer, starsector, or the likes.
The biggest culprit of the game is mining/salvaging. I've gone through a few ships now, salvaging to upgrade/expand/optimize, and everytime I deconstruct or salvage to rebuild, my frames drop below 10 fps.
my system:
R9 5950x (4.4 ghz constant - generally stays around 40% with the occasional spikes around 100 when mining/salvaging)
128 gbs ram 3600 mhz (only used about 40 gbs total)
2080 ti (does hit 100% usage but generally hovers around 60%)
970 evo plus samsung nvme on gen 4 cpu lane.
I'm running a total of 1900 crew members split amongst 5 ships and 1 massive 800 crew ship with the another 100 or so crew.
