How to remove unbuilt ships?

So when I go to place a ship from my saved designs, but I don't actually build it (usually due to lack of money), I can't get rid of the little green dot where it was going to go. I try abandoning ship but nothing happens.

Go in (blueprint) edit mode, Delete the ship with the delete tool + rectangle brush or the select tool + del key.

When there are no part to build the dot will disappear when you exit the build screen

If you just toggle blueprint mode off, it all goes away.
