Attack orientation question
Is there a way to tweak the attack orientation? The ship I'm using attacks with the rear facing the ai and I can't seem to fix it

Next time you attack with your ship, set the distance and attack angle manually, then click on the ships "hamburger" menu and choose "Save attack defaults"

I've tried that but it's always the back even when I set it pretty far away, I'm wondering if it has to do with firepower

the standard setting is with enabled AI mode (at least if you spawn it with the combat helper, or have set it to AI once). even if this has gotten an update to try to get closer to your manual settings, it still not 100% keeps it that way unless you deactivate the AI mode.

to do this you click your ship, then the hamburger menu right next to the ships name and in the context menu somewhere on the bottom few you can set it to "AI -> none". once you´ve done this the ship should follow your setting 100% but doesnt switch targets anymore or alters its attack vector on itself. so you have to manually set it each time you wanna do that.

Also make sure that in the build / blueprint screen the 8 arrows on the right have the correct one highlighted to match the forward direction of your ship.

To make life better, turn on the
Settings/Gameplay/Ship Commands/Always Show Command Handles
feature
