Multiple Ships

I see where I can build a new Ship from Scratch while in my current game. Wiill the other ship fight with my main ship or is this separately controlled?

just recently built a new ship, works just like your other ship, will attack with your other ship or you can controll it on its own

Both. You can operate each ship individually (as if it's your only ship), or select them both and issue commands to operate them simultaneously.

I don`t think there is a limit to how many ships you can own, the only thing is though...

Will you have enough crew for it all?

TLDR, no.

So basically if the game stops at a certain amount of crew than you could have many small ships. It doesn't make game play easier but oh well.

The amount of crew you get is pretty generous. Just keep recruiting - from stations and other ships. You'll get the crew you need. Keep a cargo/salvage/industrial ship with extra crew on it stationed at the trade stations.
