Cosmoteer: Starship Architect & Commander

Was this game made by one guy?
And is it captain redstone?

Yes, all of the programming was done by one person, but it's not me, I'm just really good at breaking stuff. The developer is Walt Destler, as seen in Cosmoteer's in-game credits.

Oh hai!

It's true that I did all the programming myself, except for some open-source software I use in my game engine (most notably the physics engine).

But we can't forgot all the other non-programmers who helped with Cosmoteer, including the art, music, and ship designs.
Wow. First time I've ever been contacted by almost the entire dev team behind a game haha.

Firstly, well done. I thoroughly enjoyed your creation. And of course props to all those involved in the non-code related aspects of Cosmoteer.

Also I'm not sure what CptnRedstones role is but again ty for supporting such a worthwhile game.

I would love to poor my heart about how inspiring it is that a single person can create a positive experience for so many but it would take too long.

I could also ask you questions until star citizen releases. But I'll settle for asking one as someone who is vehemently curious about the developmental process of games I enjoy.

There's obvious benefits/negatives to being the sole person behind the scene. You have full autonomy but any work is your responsibility.

I'm curious are there any less obvious perks or detriments to being a one person team? Specifically in how it relates to creating games?

Thanks you in advance if you choose to answer my question.

Happy New Year!

P.s. Did you ever consider writing it in assembly instead ala roller coaster tycoon? XD

P.p.s I think respawning resources/content should be top priority in future updates.
