I solved this by hosting an mp game and changing player slot from first to second. Somehow worked out.
Hi do you know If I have a simaliar bug?
I'm still in the first system, 64 crew, 274 fame and I need 280+ fame to recruit.
Not sure If I went to big too fast and If I move to another galaxy the problem is solved so it's a gameplay mechanic or if this is bug?
Is this as intended? Dead crew count toward you crew cap? I can see how that makes sense thematically, but how does the player recover from a large loss without save scumming? Will I forever be down 30 crew for the rest of the campaign?
Host an multi player game with your save for 4 people and try to hire. If problem stays, rehost it switching the player slot untill you can rehire crew again.
Then save and continue in single player again.
This is the only solution i found so far.
I can't tell if this is a workaround, or an exploit. Where is it documented how the crew/fame system works with dead crew?
I've filed a bug report with attached save file. I guess it's save scumming any time a crew member dies now. Something feels broken.
There's a workaround where you can host a MP game but I'm not sure how to host my normal game.
