How do I rotate a Ion Beam Prism to be diagonal 45°?
I can only rotate it 90° pointing forward/left/right/backward.

You can rotate prisms to the angle you want once puted in place. You have to select it after it's builded with ctrl + left clic on the prism and you'll find an option to aim where the prism should point at.
