Frame rate drops while G-Sync is on
Hey! Really cute game, I'm really glad that I picked it up! There is one bug for me, though. I use an ASUS Swift with G-Sync enabled. For some reason this is causing the game's FPS to tank to 8 FPS and also bounces from that to my max of 165. When I turn off G-Sync, everything runs fine and the game is playable and responsive.

Not huge deal, just a little inconvenient. Hopefully this can be fixed! :)

Thanks for making this fun game!

I had a very strange issue possibly related to adaptive sync, too. I have a FreeSync monitor set to 90 Hz. I started the game and paused it for four or five minutes and when I came back it was flickering very fast - almost like a CRT. Very uncomfortable to look at. The issue didn't go away when I quit the game (the desktop was flickering in the same way). I restarted my PC but this didn't fix it either. I changed the refresh rate to 144 Hz then back to 90 Hz. This fixed the flickering but a barely visible "afterimage" of Squidlit was visible on my monitor. This affected BIOS, Windows login screen, Windows desktop, everything. Did a full shutdown and disconnected the computer from the AC but this didn't sort it. The "afterimage" of Squidlit didn't go away until I launched another game then quit that game. Absolutely bizarre. Like Squidlit was stuck in the graphics card's VRAM or something. Thought my graphics card was broken for a while there.

Hello!
Sorry it took us a while to get back to you, we have been busy with our next project. This is a very interesting problem you have brought to our attention! Unfortuantely we have no idea what could be causing that. It could very well be an issue with GameMaker Studio 2. We'll look into the problem, but we're not sure what we'll be able to do.

Having the same problem here, but wouldn't say it isn't a big deal. It's a huuuuge problem IMHO. I'm not going to ask for a refund since it was cheap and i want to support the developers, but is just can't play a game at 8fps...

Hello!

A fix was found for another issue with G-Sync. If you're willing to give it a try, it might solve this issue as well. In your graphics card's settings for specific games, have it limit Squidlit to 30 Hz for the monitor settings.

This fix solves an issue with it being run at 50 fps, and we're starting to suspect that it might be a more advanced version of this issue. Please let us know if this fixes the problem!
