Natural Locomotion

Magene cadence/speed sensor
Does this work with speed sensors? Could I use my exercise bike to walk and run in Skyrim VR with this program?

No, sorry. Natural Locomotion feet mode is compatible with theese devices as feet motion sensors:

Lighthouse tracking devices: *
Vive Trackers
HTC wands controllers (and Pro)
Valve index controllers

Bluetooth devices:
Nintendo Switch original Joycons
PS3 Move controllers

Wifi devices:
Android smartphones with Android version 5.1 or superior, gyroscope, magnetometer and accelerometer.

* Lightouse tracking devices require lighthouse base stations and usb receiver dongles (or a second lighthouse headset connected to USB and power only).

Most unfortunate. Are there any plans to support them in the future? It would be really great if you did.

Ok, I've thought of this before. With the detected movement when using, say, joycons, wouldn't it get the pedaling registered as walking? Has anyone tried this at all? Because this could have potential in the app with little modifications

Yes, I indeed hope so. This would be a really inexpensive way to do it as well.

In our latest main update, we added a new locomotion algorithm.

The walk-in-place algorithm is meant to move feet up and down and the new one is meant to slide feet horizontally. It also work while sitting on a chair balancing feet or sliding them in the floor and of course it could be used in the steeper you have linked, but only if you use any of the devices described in my last commentary.

This option can be enabled from common settings.

VirZOOM works like this: It is a fitness app for the VR device. It links up to your speed sensor that is strapped to your exercise bike's pedal arm. You load their app that features a bike ride through any Google Streets Map view and as you pedal, you bike through the VR world. The faster you pedal, the faster you go. They also have pre-built areas and shows your percentage of completion the bike ride is at. It's pretty slick and I really wish it worked in Skyrim VR. That would be so cool to walk and run through the world. You can use the controllers to turn your body.

I think I heard of that one, but I thought it used rheir own hardware sensor stuff.

No no, you can use any sensor on the market that has BT and/or ANT.

I'm interested in this. I currently have a quest 2 and just now bought a Schwinn IC4 (same as bike as the bowflex C6) to use with it for the vzfit game(among other reasons). I've been searching to see if there was a way to map the bike to movement for VR games. From what I can tell, it uses an open standard of some sort to communicate with apps, as there are several it can work with. I'll know more when I get the bike, but it communicates with the apps via bluetooth. I'd assume that could be used to work like the other bluetooth options you have listed, though I have no idea what it would take to implement.

I'll get the bike in February. If theres any thing that I could provide once I get that, to help make this a reality, I'm more than happy to help. I'd even be willing to setup a screen share session while it's connected via BT if you want to see anything about the drivers or test stuff.

Lol I came here looking for the exact same info! I bought a pair of Cycling Speed/Cadence Sensors (dual mode) and am using VirZOOM. We use our own stationary recumbent bike and two sensors for $35. Quest 2 and VirZOOM subscription and off you go.

What a fabulous and cheap way to add sensors to VR! They are so cheap I can see them on your ankles, knees, elbows etc :) Even if we needed a Bluetooth dongle for each, still cheap as chips

Devs can you look into this please? Wishlisted..

I would pay extra money if this was compatible with bluetooth ANT cadence sensors. Since this would allow me to convert any old exercise bike into a VR treadmill.
