Vive trackers & Android phone running NaLo tracker app - VRchat full body tracking?
Hi
I am 99% sure this isn't gonna work, but just in case I thought I'd put it out there.

I have an Oculus Rift, 2 x Vive trackers (2.0), 2 x Basestations, 2.0), and NaLo software.

Last week I initially ran VRChat with my 2 x Vive trackers on each leg, (plus 2 x basestations), using Nalo. Naively I had assumed it would work for full body tracking since the headset would provide positioning alongside the 2 x feet trackers.

After finding my avatar body was all twisted and my legs not being tracked at all, (even though synced), I did some more research and realised I needed a third Tracker around my waist. (The waist tracker giving a relative position marker).

Before I purchase the 3rd vive tracker, I did wonder about trying using a mobile phone in the mix for the waist marker as it were. After all NaLo provides this possibility. I realise it won't function in the same way as the vive trackers, but I thought it's was worth a try.

I downloaded the NaLo app on my phone and synced it all up. With the mobile in my back pocket it seems to have made a difference in VRChat in so much as my avatars body is no longer twisted. It also seems to have made tracking in the likes of Fallout4 and Skyrim better.

However I still can't track my legs in VRChat.

I assume this is simply because fully body tracking needs all 3 x tracked positions tracked by the basestations and substituting the vive waist tracker for the mobile, (in conjunction with the NaLo software), won't work.

I would love to know from the developers if it's not a complete coincidence that the mobile tracking thrown into the mix has made a bit of difference, but ultimately full body (360deg and 6dof), requires the 3rd Vive tracker for the waist reference point.

thanks Dan

We are working in a new system for emulating trackers, even if you don’t have them. VR Chat requires 3 trackers (One for hip and 2 for feet) we will try to emulate the third one, even without a smartphone in the pocket.

But we are not sure when this feature will be ready, so stay alert to our news.
