Natural Locomotion

Fallout 4 VR NaLo Head Relative Help
I set bUseWandDirectionalMovement to 0 in the ini, and that successfully turned on head relative direct movement in the game.

I set the orientation in NaLo to Head Relative, and while it does feel smoother like this than without the changes, my character moves in the direction I'm looking, unlike in Skyrim VR with NaLo and locomotion set to head relative, where my body moves independent of my head.

Is it possible to get this working the same way it does in Skyrim VR? Right now, the head relative option in "Configure speed..." section doesn't seem to be doing anything for me.

NaLo is designed to always use controllers direction for the arm-swing locomotion style, even if it is configured to head direction in both NaLo profile and ingame settings. In fact it is preferible to configure it as head direction (always the game has this option), because is better for our software calculate the walking direction.

That's what I'm saying isn't happening. I set Fallout 4 to HMD, and I set nalo to Head Relative, and now actual movement in the game is head relative. Ie. I swing my arms by my sides and turn my head to the right, and I move to the right, it's not moving me by the direction of my arm-swing, it's moving me in the direction my head is looking.

Oh ok. Which headset and controllers are you using?

The Valve Index with the Index Controllers.

I'm also using the mod on the Nexus to make the Index controllers work like the Oculus Touch controllers. That's at https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/41931

Try disabling this mod, to make sure this issue is not related to it. We tested Fo4VR the last week and worked perfectly without mods.

I just uninstalled the mod, and tried again, and it still moves in the direction my head is facing, and not the direction of my arm swings.

As I mentioned, I did set bUseWandDirectionalMovement to 0 in the games ini; if your testing was only for the options you can set in game, then you wouldn't have found a problem. NaLo works ok with it set to hand relative, but as you said it's not nearly as smooth as hmd relative; you need to change the ini to set Fallout 4 to hmd relative, there's no in game option for it.

Ok I'll try it. I thought this option was the same than head direction.

Not yet sorry I'll push it to the top of my TODO list.
