SUPER DRAGON BALL HEROES WORLD MISSION

SUPER DRAGON BALL HEROES WORLD MISSION

I live in Japan, and I've been trying to get my hands on the Arcade Cabinet for about a year
Basically, I've been trying to get my hands on the arcade cabinet on this side of the pond for about a year now, and I can tell you my experiences dealing with Namco Bandai.

When I initially talked to them, they said they could only issue an arcade cabinet to businesses with potential earnings, and that it would only be a rental unit. First, they would have to send down a person to assess the arcade environment, and then decide whether or not they would issue a unique serial number for the cabinet, and the business.

So I bybassed that company, and thought I could use a middle-man that deals with the manufacturer (Happinet), lo and behold, Happinet also has to get a serial number issued by bandai for every machine in order to be a third party rental business.

I asked myself why they're doing this...

It's basically because SDBH is hottest game they got going on the IC Cardass gear.

This year, I get news that Bandai Namco now owns IC Cardass, and that the stake majority holder of Happinet is Namco Bandai.

So I contact Bandai Namco this year, and I asked them to buy the machine, and cover any potential earnings that would incur down the line, and they claim they don't carry this cabinet in arcades (which is an outright lie), I send them a reply with a picture, a link to their website, and the unit itself lol. No response.

I e-mail happinet, which used to be an independent third party company that sold various machines, games from different publishers, and... no response.
I checked their website, and they no longer sell goods from companies other than bandai anymore!
Also their website is devoid of stock.

Happinet used to be a customer friendly third party organization, and they've completely flipped.
Bandai namco no longer carries the e-mail to purchase arcade machines on their website.
And IC Cardass now belongs to Bandai Namco.

The thing is, you can get the arcade cabinet, and play offline, but it would be preferable to do so with the bandai modem so you can update the game, and use your avatar.

The only way you can do this hassle free is to buy a foreclosed arcade, and if that arcade has been closed for 1 year, any possessions inside there belong to you.
Install internet, and update the dragon ball heroes one last time for the last mission (god knows whenever that is) and play with it.

Just an update for those wondering where the game is at in Japan. Currently we're at Big Bang Mission, and they updated the engine, however... The computer that lies inside of the cabinet (It is basically a medium sized computer tower inside of the machine, and it runs windows 7 enterprise) is underperforming for the new engine. Lots of screen tearing, choppiness, and frame rate dips. So basically, the towers need an upgrade to run the new animations, and the engine overhaul. However, in theory the new animations do look sweet, but look very choppy because of outdated components in the tower. Big Bang Mission's UI is cluttered and disgusting, the camera is also too zoomed in, while the animations are happening. Very claustrophobic.

Given the new engine overhaul, I would expect a sequel to Super Dragon Ball Heroes World Mission.

There's a girl at one of the arcades that lets me study the machine.

I know there's some dudes that have the Super Dragon Ball Z arcade cabinet from 2005, that's sweet too. I could make my own Super Dragon Ball Z arcade cabinet easily.

There's a Dragon Ball Zenkai Battle Royale Arcade Cabinet that can easily be bought as well, obviously because no proprietary card game milking technology is needed.

The thing that I want is the IC Cardass proprietary screen technology, and that goes with the installed software that detects the tiny chips in the card. The problem is Bandai took them over, so they will never share any of their tech with you.

It sucks because I have a massive collection of cards, but I can't play them without going to the arcade, and exposing myself to God knows what when I use the machine.

Namco Bandai has become an obnoxious company, and they are buying out other companies, and making them act the same.

If you guys know anybody who could help me out, it would be much appreciated.

tldr; Basically, I'm in Japan, and I've exhausted all my leads on purchasing the arcade cabinet machine. I'm looking for help on acquiring this machine. Bandai Namco is reluctant to sell the machine, and is buying out companies involved in its handling.

If you can get this machine for me, I'll issue a generous finder's fee, DM please.

What pond? You live two continents and a few seas away from me.

I do wish we got the sequel though.

Hi there, thank you for the reply.

There's a chance we might get the sequel, perhaps after they upgrade all the machines with new hardware to make the arcade experience more pleasurable.

Regardless, the new animations and physics make the current game look like it was conceived in the early 2000s, and it's true because it was modeled using simple budokai graphics, and stiff stickman fighting animations/physics.

In the new build, the animations are awesome and fluid (like you're watching a CG anime tv show), but are being dragged down by the inferior tech.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes was basically an all-profit endeavour, taking the arcade emulator, and porting the engine to Switch. Next to no work was needed at all for the PC port.

There is more incentive to bring this to steam, than there isn't.
