So the PC version might just be configured for that.

Who still uses x86 Windows to game? Not trying to be rude here but the majority of new games beyond indie or 2D games require x64 OS. Plus you can always reinstall a 64-bit version of Windows using the same key if you're using Windows 7 and if you're using 8.1 or 10 it'll just activate right away since it's tied to your motherboard. I mean it won't cost you anything expect your time backing things up and installing it.

not rare. support for 32 bit and windows xp and the like have been dropped so long ago.. get with the times.
