next time make backups for all your files. they are stored in appdata.

Lost my data too it won't load or be recognized by the game at all even after pulling save from steam cloud

@Neroshock How did you try and pull the save from steam cloud? Mind explaining to me how you went about that procedure? Thanks.

Went to game properties, local files, verify integrity of game cache.
After that when I launched the game steam prompted me to upload local save to cloud, or download the save file from the cloud to local memory.

Edit: didn't help though

yes, i'm serious. Any game which saves every minute is liable to be corrupted if your game crashes for any reason. ALWAYS BACKUP SAVE DATA!

While that is true, is the only solution in this situation to lose hundreds of hours? Hopefully it will get fixed. Honestly though if it doesn't the right mindset is to be positive and treat it as a learning opportunity. That is a pretty thin line for error though if that is the case.

I'm good after update but just to be safe can someone tell me where I can find my save?

It's pretty much impossible to save a game from corruption 100% of the time... Always. Backup. Saves. To any singleplayer game where you make substantial progress. You lost it, live and learn.

it's unique for each person, i can't link the exact location because it uses your specific steam identifier. search through %localappdata% and it should be fairly easy to locate. sort by last modified if you have to.

weird, nothing wrong for me.

all i can think about widhout looking in to it is that u guys who lost data somehow got the game in an illegal way and the patch upgrade made everything erase.

or maybe the windows version?
i heard windows 7 gives some issues.

Guys i found a workaround for this if you still have your savedata locally. You should have 2 save data folders. if not, play the update long enough for it to save and then check again.

The older folder is your save file from version 1.00.00 while the newer one came from the update. Copy and paste the contents of the old file to the new file and it should read it when you play. Hope it helps.
