I also think it does a great job to make the difficulty fair to all people.
You suck and keep dying? don't worry with all the shards you got you can power up enough to get a victory anyway.
or
What's that? You got to the second boss on your first run, good luck getting to the third with beaten broken characters that can only regenerate by sacrificing eachother.
the deeper you go the easier it got and the easiest battle of all was the final battle
really disappointed by the terrible lack of difficulty BUT the game was really fun overall <3
And what memories do you equip on different classes?
Gunslinger shadow round
Menace
Lightning strike(the 30ap jump atk from blade master)
So lightning strikes does dmg -> shadow round > menace > basic abilty from blader master > shadow round > menace
go for % dmg memories on the blade master or crit if you have a high lvl daughter which already has nice crit stats
for the slingers you can go for armor shred or iniative delay
also 2-4k is really low, my blademaster was hitting for 7,9k non crit at the end of the game lol
boss final took me maybe ... 4 turn to kill him?
evil daughter just die in one hit like the rest of the bestiary after ch4 or 5
