Why all protagonist are female, should the game give the player a choice of male and female?

Why this game protagonist is all female? this game is so sexist, it should allow for players to choose male or female. That is one of the reason why i'm thinking twice on buying this game. I. sure some of other players felt the same way.

there was another post like this and it was shut down for blatant sexism. the reason all the characters are female is because all of them are clones of a woman. not like the reason would matter anyways, because the only way this would impact anyone is if the "victim" is sexist

Well, developer are the one who decide to block the freedom of choice for players. They can just made it free to choose a character gender. What's wrong with that? I believe many players feel the same way and they should allow for players to choose at least on the gender coz it does matters to some players. There is no need for the character to be pre-made stats base on gender, just make it stats free flow and only select on the appearance based on gender, simple!. What's wrong on discussing this thing which make similar discussion been blocked? what are they afraid or shame off?

because it makes no sense in context to the game. youre the kind of person to play a turn based JRPG and complain that its not an FPS

Duuuhh? how is that doesn't make any sense? the lagendery turn based game, final fantasy tactics, disgea, DOS & etc... have these features, which make this game are wonderful and inclusive. So why can't i question that? it truely does significant to JRPG or turn base tactical players, where players can set and configure their characters which are part of the tactical fun that imbune with the players originality element it self. This is truly make sense for the players of this genre.

This game looks to be one of those rare cases where it's worth sacrificing the players freedom to chose gender in order to tell a particular story.

I'm not 100% sure I understand the story, but I think it's partly about a struggle between traditionaly masculine qualities being out of control and causing unnecessary pain, with traditionaly female virtues trying to heal this.

Or it may just be the female only characters are as the devs felt they needed that for the aesthetic & style.

Possible spoilers ahead. They are all female because they are in essence all splinters of the mother character or spawned from her essence. Hence could be seen as the same person. That's my take on it anyway

This is a nonsense, pointless and sexist thread. You could ask why is Serious Sam not a women? Along with a massive list of male only game protagonists.

Well as for male protagonists you get the Deacon, the Surgeon and the Child. If you mean there's no male playable character you are correct although as other have pointed out, it's not possible.

I think it suits this game well to have only female protagonist. I mean think about the Amazons. You would not cry about the amazons being only female right ? Then why cry about a game telling the story of a group of female warriors born from a spirit to protect the very fabric of reality ?

As far as I played, this game is not trying to have any message about "female power" "males are the problem" or anything. It is only telling a supernatural story about a deity like entities. I mean, you could see a statement in the fact that females are the "good guy" and a male child is the "bad guy", but I personally take that more like a message about motherhood.

If I was considering this game to be a piece of feminist propaganda, I would tell you to back off, but it is not the case.

And by the way, giving the player the choice means create more models for the game. So it is not so "simple!"
