Known Issues - 06/08/2020
Greetings, Chosen Ones,

Thank you for your continuous feedback. We’d like to share with you this updated known issue list featuring several issues and their potential workaround that will be addressed in the upcoming patch.

Known Issues

AI
  • The enemy AI may get stuck and block the game in some very rare cases.
    • Workaround: Open the menu and get back to the main menu. Reload your save and restart the mission. By doing so, the issue should not occur again.
  • In some rare situations, enemies’ behaviour may appear bugged.

Options
  • Using “faster gameplay” in the tutorial cuts one sentence of the Child’s lines.
    • Workaround: Do not use this open in tutorial
  • The game does not have a finalized ultra-wide screen support solution yet.
    • Workaround: Delete the file _save_common located here: :\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Othercide\_saves_\*usedSteamID AND Delete the register key located here (except default) in the Registry Editor in Windows : Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\LightbulbCrew\Othercide

Traits
  • The description of the “Trait Aware” is incorrect.

Accessibility
  • The color of titles in Credits’ menu are still red using colorblind.

UI
  • In some rare situations, Memory will cost more than the price displayed in the interface, causing players to pay more than expected.
  • In some rare situations, the HP bar of the HopeBreaker (last boss) is invisible.
    • Workaround: Use inspect function to check his HP.
  • If your Daughters die during the transition explosion when fighting against the last boss, their HP bars will remain on the map.

Gameplay
  • In some rare cases, the initiative stat of a ScytheDancer may be negative when you start a mission. This may make your Daughter unable to act.
    • Workaround: End your turn and everything should work in the next turn.
  • If you choose to abandon a Boss fight when the Boss spawns, it blocks the game.
    • Workaround: You have to leave to the main menu and reload your save. You will come back to the defeat screen as if you had abandoned the fight.
  • In some rare cases, ranged enemies can shoot through obstacles that block the line of sight.

Menu
  • If an event happens when a cinematic starts, the pop-up window will display over the cinematic.
    • Workaround: You can close the pop-up window manually.

Hardware
  • You may experience color flickering when playing with a SLI rig.
    • Workaround: Play in “Single graphic card mode”

Technical issues
  • If you get the random “Lost” event during the first day (tutorial), you won’t be able to go to Day 2 and onwards
    • Workaround: Start a new campaign by going to the main menu and either erase your save or choose an empty save slot. You will play the tutorial again, but should not have the same issue after.
  • If you have a save and launch a new game on another save, then click ‘cancel’ on the replay tutorial pop-up, and click on your previous save right after, you’ll lose your progress.
    • Workaround: Please NEVER CLICK ‘CANCEL” on the pop-up message and always select ‘Yes’ or ‘Skip’. If you accidentally click on the save slot, you have to start playing and reach the chronomap before going back to the menu.
  • Some calendar systems on Windows will break the game, such as the buddhist calendar. You will not see any usable save slots when you’re in the menu.
    • Workaround: Setting your Windows calendar to English solves this issue.
  • There’s an issue with the Vsync option, causing players not able to see any text in the option menu. The option is usable though.


Controls
  • It may happen that some controls are unresponsive (with a mouse & keyboard or a controller) after the latest update.
    • Workaround: Close the game > delete the register keys “Rewired” located in the Registry Editor on Windows: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\LightbulbCrew\Othercide
      Restart the game
  • In some rare cases, all skills are not usable, even if you have enough AP/HP.
    • Workaround: Alt+tab out and in. Once you’re back into the game, this issue should be fixed.
  • In some cases, returning to the Sacrifice chamber with a gamepad using the B/Circle button does not work.
    • Workaround: Restart the game to allow this button to work properly.

After starting a new recollection with an older save, I also had an issue with a bugged boss fight, I seem to have no more story cutscenes.

Before starting the recollection I had the Suffering boss fight, where the cutscenes played as usual, afterwards no more scenes for defeating bosses. Btw, cutscenes are not disabled in the options menu.

Edit:

I did a new recollection, boss fights worked normal, but no cutscences except for the the ones in and after the last boss fight

So... I got into a Penance mission... And enemies decided it was a holiday, and didn't show up.

Specific situation: 4 person Penance.

I use Spirit Haste on one of my units who is doing an overwatch (shadow shot/interrupting shot). Don't know if this is important. I then attack an enemy. This hasted unit reaction-shot kills the enemy, fills their bar, and leaves the field.

Then my shielder smacks another enemy... and from the void, the egressed vision of the gunslinger appears, and kills this other enemy with a shadow shot too. Weird, but whatever.

After that from-the-heavens not-present-unit-killed-something, no new enemies spawned. They were afraid of my ethereal from-beyond gunslinger overwatch, I guess?

Which is unfortunate, given a Penance mission is to, you know, kill until you fill your bars. Which I couldn't. And of course, I left my strongest person for last, so they could do it at the end... And now I have to flee the mission, killing that Daughter, because they genocided the entire enemy nightmare species, none left, all dead, 2 chevrons short of being able to leave.

Jupp, I had exact the same problem here in my current playthrough. All enemies get killed, it seems that this mission was primarily for a 3 person mission and now the number of enemies aren't enough for 4 person.

Man, what a bummer... I was so proud that I made this mission without any damage... I hope, there will be another update in the near future...

is a penance mission in day 13 on the map with the tram wagons.

This "Verwüster" (engl. Ravager or Devastator?) could hit my daugher "Unlust" with the attack "Klauen" (engl. "Claws) even being out of range.

I suspect that the bonus from the Sleep event just stayed applied (without showing) for whatever reason, that's the only cause I can think of

Hi, i have a bug to report.
About an area of a certain map, where you can not; move on-top of a certain squares. or attack around them.

Seeing the screenshot.
The red area of attack stays, un-targeted. As if it's? empty space. Or? invincible wall. There's no way to move on those blocks.

There is also more! Little blocks in that area, making it unable to move around. (The corner, & right side of that area.)
But so far, it's only on *this train map.

While I don't see many problems happen in the game on my end - with the exception of the occasional small hickups, like weird movement from the AI - I do have one major bugthat just happened to me.

I was playing a Penance mission, and there weren't enough enemies to get the last of my three daughter's gauges to max. No new enemies would spawn, no matter how many turns I would end. The game was softlocked

In the end, I had to leave the mission and restart it. Though the second run did end successfully.

There's a few little things that I'll put in a separate post when I get a chance as they're not really bugs but one thing happened to my last week where a plague doctor used their melee attack on my soulslinger about 16 squares away.

Nvidia's DSR doesn't work. I can set the resolution in the options, but the rendering resolution is capped at native. I suspect this happens because what the game calls "Fullscreen" is actually "Borderless Windowed", which happens in a lot of Unity games (for whatever reason).

my specs: Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB, AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, Windows 10, native display resolution is 1366x768.

I also encountered a bug after transfering my save files from the GOG version: it's impossible to go into the mission. once I click the "Attack" or "Confront the Boss" on the main screen, the UI disappears and nothing else happens. starting a new recollection seems to fix this.

guys, please, don't abandon this game. you made something truly special here.

Hey devs, I don't know who made russian localisation for the game but it's absolutely horrible. Forget the typos (they have it, but not many), but the translation itself is so twisted so sometimes you just can't understand what the game means. It concerns ALL texts, but SKILL descriptions suffered even more, than others. Following these texts it is absolutely clear these "translators" never played the game itself, because mistakes are quite stupid.

For example:
"Guardian" translated like "Bodyguard" (Телохранитель)
"Round" (meaning Shot) translated like "Circle" (Круг)
"Lock" (lock the target...) translated like "Block" (Блокировать)
and so on...

Fix it!

PS4 version

1. I resurrected one daughter of 2 lvl and she appeared in my roster with 3 lvl O_o
I lost her in Era 1 and resurrected in Era 2, maybe this influenced, but seems more like a bug.

2. HP bars (daughters and enemies) sometimes still bugged (strangely floating in the air).

3. ALL enemy armour buffs and debuffs are completely broken and give\destroy more armour, then listed.

4. Accidentally I can't use a skill in a battle even if I have enough AP.

5. I just navigated the inner menues (checking Memories and stuff) and got random game crash.

6. Infected make action in their 1st turn, right after spawn (distant attack).

7. On Start Mission screen the field THREATS sometimes empty.

8. If daughter gets seriously hurt her red scarf become grey in battle. But in game menus: roster etc. it's still red.

Yes it is. All armour buffs\debuffs are broken.
