Gravel looks quite stunning with this.
I need to disable shadows for a solid 60 FPS with Vsynch. I've tried to disable ambiant occlusion and other graphic options but it didn't work; with shadow set on low this game run under 60 FPS.
Any idea/console variables?
Not much more you can do really, the game is just quite demanding.
EDIT. Your only other option is turn the frame limitter to 30fps and play like the console versions have to. If you turn motion blur on the highest, it actually looks quite smooth.
Finally i've tested to set all graphics disabled/low with shadow set on low and medium but it still dropping fps under 60.
So now i'm playing with all graphics on high/ultra with shadow disabled. I've also set gamma the lowest possible. It's not perfect but better than fps drop.
When playing career i hope it will be not a sunny day because it's ugly. Other meteo conditions are ok this way.
Dreaming right now about an update from Milestone...
What GPU are you running? I'm able to max out all the settings with a maxwell titan x and get around 65FPS @1440.
under what conditions? I also run a 1060. I only have motion blur and bloom disabled, rest maxed out and I run pretty much 80-110 fps @1080p everywhere except the damn compound, there I have 50-60. when I had my fps locked to 60 I felt like the game was stuttering way more

@1440p(you can see all my PC setup on my profil)
EDIT. You're playing at 1440p, i get drops from 60fps at 1440p, and i have a 980ti.
You will have to stick to 1080p for a locked 60fps bud.
Yep, I'm in the same boat as you. What's the max fps you've clocked?
Also, given you're on Nvidia can you please check something for me? Go to extras > tutorial and see what happens (this is if you didn't already trigger it when you started a single player race).
For me what happens is a panning shot of the start gate and finish line of the compound and it simply keeps looping.. doesn't actually spawn the rider at the starting gate as I've seen it do so for others. It also becomes unresponsive to keyboard, controller and mouse input. Hitting ALT+F4 brings up the menu to exit the game.
I can't try that tutorial thing at the moment because the game is on my other account, and my cousin is playing a game with it at the moment. I did mess aropund with the tutorial when i got the game yesterday and everything seemed fine at that time.
A GTX 1060 is able to run games @1440p with 60fps but without graphic settings on ultra. It's weird because, like i said in this thread "...i've tested to set all graphics disabled/low with shadow set on low and medium but it still dropping fps under 60."
My native screen resolution is 1440p, it is the only game i got shadows problem with and it's not my first UE4 game...
That's why i'm dreaming about an hotfix/update from Milestone ;)
This game is quite demanding, especially the coumpound levels. I mean imo it shouldnt be as demanding as it is, Gravel looks better and runs better, same devs and same UE4 engine.
I dont think any patch or update is going to optimize the game enough to get your 1060 running this at 1440p/60fps max settings.
Here's what happens https://streamable.com/kq0pp. I left it only for 1 and a half minutes to try and load, but it can get stuck on that load/video loop for 10 minutes or even longer. I haven't been patient enough to let it go for half an hour but I'm sure it would if I did.
