Just hang on a bit more.
In the context of releasing at the same time as all out? It's way better than average. If they allow true freedom of movement in the air with left and right sticks it will leave MxvsATV dead. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they've improved air movement much in MXGP Pro at all. Same ol throw sticks towards each other or out from each other scrubs. The only reason whips were achieved in all out is by nerfing cornering to the point of it being ridiculously oversensitive. I assume Milestone is suffering the same problem. They'll compromise bike handling on the ground if they free up in air movement.
In the other hand I don´t see why free up the air movement will compromise the hadling or cornering or doing it in a bad way, maybe it happened with all out the way it was build, but there is more examples like MX sim that is simply perfect in all aspects, they just will need to balance the gameplay been more difficult to falldown when leaning or sitbouncing or reflex that works pretty damm good without been a simulator. Sure there is alot of factors that compromisse the gameplay mechanics even in how the AI beheaves not only the player, but i think the most important of all is the game per year format of this series that leaves without room to make huge changes or completly rebuild the physics.
I definitely think the whip mechanic and overall in air movability drastically affected ground handling in All Out. This is most prevalent in All Out's cornering. It's absolutely dreadful, way too sensitive and it's why I refused to buy their game. Handling is fundamentally broken in Rainbow's game.
There are two possibilities as to why Milestone haven't freed up in air movement thereby allowing whips:
1. The All Out effect. It would destroy and or hamper Milestone's awesome ground movement.
2. Even after professional MXGP riders explained to them in detail how a whip should function, Milestone still do not get it and never will.
Lastly, I hope that you guys fixed the "clutch" for manual transmission players... It was virtually useless the last couple of games. Here's to hoping for something other than a reskinned MESX! *Smug looking jerk proposing a toast*
