In the most blatant of cases they will even hand over chips to a friend who is risking getting eliminated from the table. For example lets say there are 3 players left at the table. Yourself and two cheaters. Cheater #1 is struggling to keep in the game. So lets say you fold right away because your cards are bad this process then starts...
You fold.
Cheater #2 raises but ensures its not an all in for cheater #1 as this would force both hands to be played to a conclusion.
Cheater #1 calls.
The flop comes down and Cheater #2 instantly folds. Ensuring the much needed chips get to Cheater #1
This process can even repeat more than one time in a row. There are less blatant ways to cheat of course. To be clear most games don't seemingly have anyone cheating but sometimes it does occur.
