Titolo gestionale dal gran potenziale ferroviario che grazie alle sue meccaniche uniche si differenzia da una buona parte dei concorrenti e fa si che si possa ritagliare una sua fetta di mercato.

Ci troviamo ancora una volta nell'era del vapore, dove i treni hanno preso il sopravvento sui mezzi di trasporto già esistenti e il titolo seppur in early access al momento della recensione promette bene grazie ad aggiornamenti regolari nonché grazie a delle solide basi. Il gameplay è semplice, ci si occupa del trasporto di beni e persone per fare soldi ed espandere ulteriormente il nostro impero!
Non è cosi banale come sembra perché i bisogni delle città cambiano nel tempo e bisogna investire soldi nella manutenzione dei treni nonché nel loro aggiornamento, però il titolo sa regalare già in questa fase numerose ore di gioco.

For a 79 yr old this game is both stimulating and stress free. Like the concept cant wait for sandbox. Yes I failed missions but mostly my own fault. Have one minor complaint. Whilst i like the idea of a starting station I do hate having to send engines on a two day hike before they get started. Could we not have the opportunity to purchase another engine shed? say at a level 5 upgraded station for ,maybe $20K.
This game is one of the best rail games I have purchased (being an ex railway man I have a few) Does it have simularities to other rail games? Yes. But it has it's own identity well worth a try.

Una lieta sorpresa. Leggendo i commenti e guardando gli screen non mi aveva colpito. Ho avuto coraggio e l'ho comprato, il genere gestionale tycoon è fra i miei generi preferiti, una prova era d'obbligo.
Campagna a scenari veramente ben strutturata che aggiunge elementi portanti del genere un pò alla volta, come la ricerca, il personale da assumere, comprare terreni, acquistare fabbriche e costruirne di nuove, contratti a tempo etc.
Certo qualche difettuccio ce l'ha tipo l'impossibilità di mettere i segnali e dirigere il traffico come vuoi tu, ma tutto sommato mi ci son abituato e gestire più treni su una medesima tratta diventa una discreta sfida. Anche l'interfaccia qualche volta ti fa far confusione, specialmente quando cominci ad aver tanti treni...
Alla fine di ogni missione campagna si guadagno punti esperienza da poter spendere per migliorare le abilità del nostro alter ego e questa cosa l'ho molto apprezzata portandomi a svolgere tutti gli incarchi per poter aver più punti da spendere.
Ottimo titolo con una bel curva di sfida crescente!

gioco piacevole ma purtroppo non è degno erede di railroad tycoon 3, quel gioco di 15 anni fa' spiegava a un ragazza di 12/13 anni come funziona la borsa titoli / obbligazioni / dividendi / depressione boom economico
questo è un gioco di gestione trasporti bello divertente, ne ho giocato 100 ore prima di recensirlo, pochi bug e questo è un merito ma credo che questo gioco non debba puntare sulla grafica ma su altri punti... diciamo che è un gioco che merita un 8 rischia di essere ripetitivo soprattutto se non si gioca on line... se avete dei dubbi sull'acquisto vi invito a giocare a railroad tycoon 3 è molto + divertente e completo... qui le città si sviluppano su uno schema fisso invece nel precedente capitolo non erano schematiche e le sfide mai 2 volte uguali... in r. corporation purtroppo la monotonia arriva presto.. al momento della recensione ho presso 28 emblemi su 52 quindi direi che ho giocato abbastanza per poter recensire

I now completed half the campaign and still cannot decide whether I hate this game, or love it. The biggest issue for me is no signaling AT ALL. You have to rely on AI to distribute your trains over the railway, and that is something which sometimes brings trouble.I was actually shocked at first to see that there is absolutely no way how to tell your trains how to move, when, which part of the track they should use, etc.. I almost uninstalled the game twice thanks to that. I cannot remember any other transport tycoon game in which there was no signalling. Recent Transport Fever 2 has signals, Railway Empire has signals, Maschinky has signals..

I am a long time player of Railway Empire, another train management game which I love, and that game is far superior thanks to signalling alone. I experimented a bit with track layout, tried double tracking, or just doubling small parts of the track, etc, and so far I was not able to find a solution how to make trains move without some of them standing and staring and doing nothing, despite having a lot of free track ahead of them which they should have been using .. Fortunately, as soon as you learn game mechanics, you start making so much money that you stop caring about half your trains not being effective at all.. but that is hardly any positive.

However, devs seem to be tweaking AI train management and it improved a lot since release. So it is becoming less of an issue with each patch.

I would definately recommend the game, as it has big potential.

I'm a long-time player of Railroad Tycoon II and III, and of the two recent takes at the same theme, Railroad Corporation and Railway Empire, I like Railroad Corporation more. Do I like it more than RT2/RT3? Eh.... probably not, but after 15+ years of waiting for a proper successor, it's the closest I've found.

At a high level, it combines the free-form track building of RT3 with the economic engine of RT2. Goods only move if they're hauled on your train, and buildings requiring source goods produce nothing without the railroad. Unlike RT2, there is a delay to their production in Corporation, so you'll have to make some tweaks if you don't want your trains to be waiting around for the steel mill to make steel with its newly arrived components.

Some reviewers prefer Empire because it requires you to build signals. I prefer Corporation because it doesn't; it focuses on the tycoon aspects rather than being a signal-builder game. For the most part, you lay track, trains figure out where to go. But double track helps, and you can optimize things pretty well by building some connections between tracks and optionally setting directionality, allowing a fast train to overtake a slow train, for example. I find Corporation strikes the right balance - it doesn't get bogged down in the signal details, while being slightly more in-depth in that area than the Railroad Tycoon games. If there were routing issues on release in 2019, I didn't see them during the entire campaign in 2023, so consider them fixed.

Corporation also benefits from not having the cartoonish cast of characters in Empire who constantly interject verbally. Once again, it lets you focus on building a railroad, only occasionally interrupted by an auction for a property, a somewhat interesting alternative to simply being the first one to click "buy" on a property in Railroad Tycoon.

The campaign scenarios can be moderately challenging, but like the Tycoon games, are designed with required and stretch goals; I didn't meet all of the stretch goals. I found the campaign to be fun in the beginning and after the mid-ground reset, but while somewhat fun, the research felt a bit artificial (just because you start a new company in 1860, you're stuck with 1830 locomotives? I'm sure Baldwin will sell you a new one). And by the end, I'd figured out the game, there are only so many supply chains.

That, combined with the limited set of scenarios, and the pre-set maps (versus the randomly-generated-buildings-based-on-weights method of RT2/RT3), ultimately limits the game's replayability. By the time Railroad Tycoon II reached Platinum, it had well over 100 scenarios covering all time periods and geographic areas, and both RT2 and RT3 have vast third-party scenarios on the Hawk and Badger Railroad website. Here, you've got about a dozen in the campaign, a couple more standalone, 5-10 that you can buy as add-ons, and not much in the workshop; there's a Germany map that looks interesting. I suspect PopTop had a much larger team and budget than Corbie did, but the modding capabilities of even RT2 are far superior. Thus, while I've played hundreds of hours of each of the Railroad Tycoon games, I don't know if I'll ever reach 50 in Corporation.

The 32 hours I did play were a nice change of pace though, and I look forward to seeing what Corbie can do in Railroad Corporation 2, in the 20th century. They've got the fundamentals down for a full successor for Railroad Tycoon, they just need the time and funding to polish the edges, build out the content library, and make the still-in-beta modding tools better in the next version so the community can more easily help with the latter.

I punti deboli sono:
> la gestione dei concorrenti, che non possono essere acquisiti o ostacolati, cosa problematica visto che la IA ha il solo scopo di ostacolarvi nelle aste e nel conseguimento degli obiettivi;
> la costruzione dei binari, dovete costruire voi manualmente le sezioni dei binari (le parti "atomiche" del binario, delimitata dai segnali) e questo rende molto macchinosa la costruzione. Inoltre non si possono dividere i doppi binari, rendendo gli scambi molto lenti e poco efficienti.
ATTENZIONE Se i vostri treni rimangono in attesa inspiegabilmente NON È UN BUG, ma semplicemente è l'intersezione dei binari troppo stretta.
>Il posizionamento delle stazioni è fisso, cambia solo la rotazione
>I passeggeri non hanno una destinazione


Se siete disposti ad accettare di perdere un po' più di tempo del necessario dietro a questi aspetti, il gioco offre un'ottima esperienza ed è molto curato nella gestione totale della compagnia e di ciò che comporta. Da apprezzare la crescita delle cittadine (non c'è la divisione netta tra città e produttori di risorse).

Inizialmente un pò macchinoso, con le ore di gioco mi sono accorto che è un insieme del meglio di vari giochi del suo genere, in alcune cose ricorda il buon vecchio Railroad tycoon, in altre il Sid Mayer's in alcuni dettagli persino Rail Nation, insomma una bellissima sorpresa ed un bellissimo manageriale e gestionale, consgliatissimo per gli appassionati del genere ;)

This game lacks many of the things that Syd Meirs' Railroad Tycoon considered and got right over a decade ago. The maps are not dynamic, which really sucks because it's always the same cities with the same commodities, and the same terrain. Replay for the most part is uninviting. The bidding for land and buildings in entirely predictable. Hit the higher bid button three times and you'll win the bid.

The graphics are great although I experienced significant lag when I increased the detail levels of water and trees. My graphics card has handled far more complex rendering so I'm certain this is a poor memory management issue with the developers. The tutorials are relatively useless.. Fortunately, there are enough players who answered most of the questions I had.

Still, with those limitations I still found it chellenging and enjoyable to play. I didn't play with the time limit options. I found some of the time frames to be absurdly short or the game balancers thought that players should know the quest solutions. That took away a lot of the fun for me but without the time limits I was free to build my empire and then meet the challenges with less risk of having the game terminate because I was overdrawn at the bank.

The game's not worth full price but $15 to $20 would buy you a lot of fun.

I have now played the campaign through twice and have learned a lot since the below review.
The game remains fun and I really cannot wait for the coming updates, because this game has a lot of promise. Some of the problems I had at first have been eliminated by getting better at the game the way it is now.

-Track laying- the first time through I was doing was overloading the network with too many trains and a lot of crossovers and intersections. The routing does need to be improved but with careful planning, future bottlenecks can be eliminated. Upgrade your stations and invest in train research ASAP. This will allow longer and faster trains, that takes care of the problem of clogging the network with slow and over worked trains. Also build sidings frequently so trains can bypass each other easily.

-Stations- Upgrade them to get more tracks, and use those tracks to run separate lines to different cities. I would like to see the ability to build a locomotive facility so trains can start at a place other than your home city.

Trains/ Routing- waypoints would be nice as well as an option to highball through stations that you do not want the train to stop at. Routing and stuck trains still seems to be a problem so further signaling would be a great feature to see. The transportation tycoon signal system still seems like the best one I have ever used in a transportation game.

Multiplayer is fun as is and will be improved with the next update, I would like to see the ability to build more than one station in a city so you can compete head to head with others, but in time I think they will do that.

Overall so far this remains a recommended game and I do think the developers are listening and making improvements as quick as they can.

Every game I've played since railroad Tycoon has left a little bit of nostalgic longing for that experience. I have played the railway empire, Sid Meier's railroads, and some of the others that have come through in time. Being the reason that I play these games is for the experience of building a railroad and seeing the trains running, and immersing yourself in the world, most of these games will provide some form of entertainment for many hours, but the continual going back year after year is a hard thing to capture with just any railroad simulation game.

I was excited for railroad corporation, and have only put in about two or three hours. I am liking what I am seeing I've read some of the negative reviews and people are being very critical of a game that is in early release. this game definitely shows a lot of promise and potential. The most obvious thing to me is that trains are actually affected by the cargo they Hall which is awesome, unlike railway empire where you seem to be able to put eight cars of anything behind even the smallest/least powerful locomotive, in railroad corporation you just can't do that as the train will basically stall and clog up your rail Network. I also like the idea of a corporate headquarters / corporate office where you can expand it to do different things, it creates a lot of potential for the game.

I have somewhat mixed feelings about the stations being situated the way they are, as in a covered looking house where the tracks run into versus a multi-track station system that has been used in the past by many games. However at the same time I understand that premise because oftentimes especially in a game like railway empire you get bogged down managing stations in at times even had to construct multiple stations in a city just to manage the amount of traffic which at the same time was also unrealistic. So this system may actually be better but maybe they should change the look of the station to make it look more like a terminal with yard tracks oh, but I am actually okay with this mechanism at this point. It looks like they've also laid the groundwork to have a signaling type system and the sidings I have built actually do seem to serve a purpose of trains running around one another. I am sure that's a mechanism that will be expanded on it some point once the other mechanics are worked out.

There is no stock market at least that I've seen yet, but that was one of my most favorite aspects of railroad Tycoon so hopefully they implement some type of that system into this game as well. The industry system is great I like to see my products get taken from one industry to another and the work-in-progress taking place to produce a final product. I will continue to play and May update my review as I see fit but at this point I see this as a worthwhile investment in a game that has huge potential.
