Editor - Map Creation 4x4 Water
Have successfully created several (up to) 3x3 chunk maps using homemade terrain and mountain masks. I am using a 1000x1000px size (just a guess - let me know if there is an optimum size)?

When attempting either a 3x3 or a 4x4 chunk map the water, in each case so far, doesn't seem to fully generate. In the northern part of each map, the water seems to end in a straight line and the rest is the freckly black matrix. Just the water presents a problem, land is fine.

Tried both a 1000x1000px and then tried 2000x2000px to see if a larger size might be needed for 4x4 chunks. Neither prduced proper water in the north.

Have you checked this land in the actual game? Does water still missing there?
Anyway I suggest you to use water mask. It's a 512x512 texture, where black colour represents water while no colour represents no water.
It's important to have no color, because white still will give you water.

I will try that and keep playing around with the masks.
And would 512x512 be optimum size for all - Terrain, Mountain and Water masks?

Thanks for the response.

usually for terrain, mountains etc 2048x2048 texture is used. However, water mask is 512x512. It can be used to improve performance on the map. Since you don't need want under the terrain. You want want only in rivers and lakes.

I will try that as well.

Additional tests of 512x512 (4x4 chunks)
- Water as you suggest - (black water, rest transparent)
- Where that water is on the terrain mask left transparent, rest of mask white
- Painted some white mountains on mountain mask
Same result - the speckling in the upper and right-hand area of the water, the rest fine

With the following changes
- Where the water course is on the terrain map I also made that black, rest white
Same result - the speckling same areas
BUT after rendering, clicked APPLY MASK to apply water and that seemed to cure the issue (had not done that previously as I thought the mask itself was all that was needed)

I have a nice map, mountains where I expect them, even painted some white on a corresponding forest mask (rest transparent) and that seems to actually remove the forest and mottled terrain, leaving more solid green with very few trees.

For anything less than 4x4 I found the black water course on the terrain layer was all I needed (had not tried the water mask at that point).

Thanks for the help!

Plan to upload a map and scenario with this soon in the workshop.

Great! Please leave here a link to your item, when it's done)

Started over and re-did my Scenario.
Have posted it, but see this:

Current visibility: Hidden This item will only be visible to you, admins, and anyone marked as a creator.

As mentioned, new to workshop.
How can I share?

Hmm...I remember there was a Steam Related bug, which prevents you from uploading an item. Try to resize manually your preview.png to 512x512
Zerradio Nov 3, 2020 @ 3:54am
Have resized the preview pic within the projects folder and uploaded that as a new 512 preview on Steam.
Also deleted the previous png, which was the original picked from the projects folder after uploading the project to workshop.

FYI - Used the uploading button in RC of course, and the file seemed to upload just fine within the game

Obviously others have done this. Curious what steps they have taken I might not have?

Or is there some setting within Steam I have to change to make this visible?
Any help would be appreciated.
Shouldn't be this hard, I would think?

The steam sharing setting looks like this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2276270205

Maybe that's all you need to change? Looking forward to trying your map.

I hate sounding like someone that doesn't know what I'm doing, but...

On my content page I do not see - Add/Remove Contributors - or - Change Visibility - of the owner controls listed.

Which again leads me to think I have a setting on Steam itself wrong for my account. I am trying to find applicable information on Steam, but there's a lot to sift through. I did read there was a way to change sharing visibility elsewhere, but again could not find that option on mine.

Please stay with this as I try to figure it out. If I can post one, I can post more.
And thank you for the screenshot. It helped narrow down my issue...I think/hope.

Can you share screenshots? In my profile privacy settings screenshots and workshop are in the same category as "Per-Item" and I can't edit it from that. What do you see there?

If you don't know how to find that: go to your profile then click the button on right side of the page "Edit Profile".

By default, steam makes what I share public automatically, which points toward something with your account/settings.

Have setup a screenshot folder on my machine.
Put a shot similar to yours in there (of what I see on my content). Seems I can only share game content, which I haven't yet, if I am reading correctly.

My profile settings says same thing. Screens and Workshop items per-item and public.

Trying to search for workshop help.

First project I uploaded (mentioned in another post) showed same thing. Left it up a couple of days to see if "someone" had to approve it, as it was my first. Nothing happened, so I deleted it, which made it impossible to upload same project again from in the game.
So, started over,
New project sitting hidden.

I will keeping looking for something?
Or find a way to ask a question of Steam Workshop about why this remains hidden (twice).

I can see the picture as "artwork" in your content. What I actually did was take a random screenshot in-game with the F12 shortcut, then open that in an image editor where I selected all and then pasted in different content ---> overwriting the jpg. Maybe not proper, but it works.

But I can't see anything in your category: screenshots. The message is "Zerradio has no screenshots available for your viewing." Do you see anything there?

I access my Screenshot Uploader
Top Menu, View -> Screenshots

This accesses all the screenshots taken with the in-game steam overlay, F12 is the default capture shortcut. Side-note: double-clicking one of the previews will open it externally.

When there, all I need to do is select one and hit Upload, then it appears in my screenshots as public which I can later change.

Nice, your screenshot looks fine. I see you have a share button below your map. If you click that and copy the link I wonder will I be able to click it and see the map?
