Auto transfer goods to production
Lets say i have wood and a sawmill in one town.
Is it possible to put the woods automaticly into the sawmill to produce lumber?
I now that its possible to use a train, that has the town as start and destination, but thats more or less a glitch in my opinion. Shouldn't there be a button like the auto sell to city checkbox?

Hi Crossfader.

You can manually transfer / sell / buy goods in towns by selecting the destination and moving / selling / purchasing the items from the corresponding location. In theory, you wouldn't need a train for this. To my knowledge, there no way to automate this as of yet.

Build a warehouse. Then sell to town.

THats what I am doing using a train, same problum, chairs, if I do not use a train, I have to manuly send planks over, cloth goes into chair factory, i built a plank making factory, and brougt chair factory, i then have to go into some thing to transfer planks over to chair factory from plank factory, if i forget, my chair factory runs out of planks, no more chairs, no more money, so had a brain wave, i use the cheapish train going, sent it to town, from town, pick up 1 plank, to town same place, drop off said plank, poor tain did not go any were, now planks go to right place, "BUT", you should be able to auto it to send planks to chair factory, with out using train or pushing loads of buttons, As what Crossfader says, I have only been playing 2 days as of 27 may 20, and I am a 60yr old grumby old get, my first computer was a ZX81, so i know what i am talking about, some times, :), ps, the game is not to bad,

I also use the train method of transferring goods but I wish I could set it up automatically without a train. Still, it does keep my "Best Friend" relevant at least.

I agree with Crossfader i use a train on a route to switch materials from raw material to production, a menu for this and a quantity slider is a must however as this begins to tie trains down and begins to pile up tasks to the point of tedious.

Putting a Textile plant at a town with Cotton fields is a no brainer, logging/camp-sawmill, grain fields-Farm same approach, but having to use the trains to transfer needs to be a menu QOL upgrade to allow more focus on trains.

There should be a button named "auto_sell" that sells|transfers item to town/manufacture at maximum possible rate.

I really hate doing this maually in lategame and reloading game cause "oh nice, one of my important chains has been afk for a month cause i missed to click this button 20 more times"

Add my name to this list, too. Developers...this is an absolute must.

Thank you all for comments about this feature. We see how it's important and we will check possibility to add it.

Yes, there should be an alternative way to transfer goods, when a city requires goods, which are already available in the same city. For example, when lumber is required in the city with a fully functioning lumbermill.

When you own the Farm/Manufacturing Facility - there IS a checkbox to allow you to sell the town or not. But - you have to OWN it. But - it will only sell to the Town Center - NOT to another business. So Wood (owned) and Lumber (owned) would not automatically sell to each other - BUT - if the town wanted Wood or Lumber - and you have the box checked off - it will automatically sell a quantity of 1 each time an item is consumed.

So, any update on this? A button to automatically port raw materials to manufactured goods (assuming that you own the needed buildings within that one particular town) would be an absolute game changer.
