You can manually transfer / sell / buy goods in towns by selecting the destination and moving / selling / purchasing the items from the corresponding location. In theory, you wouldn't need a train for this. To my knowledge, there no way to automate this as of yet.
Putting a Textile plant at a town with Cotton fields is a no brainer, logging/camp-sawmill, grain fields-Farm same approach, but having to use the trains to transfer needs to be a menu QOL upgrade to allow more focus on trains.
I really hate doing this maually in lategame and reloading game cause "oh nice, one of my important chains has been afk for a month cause i missed to click this button 20 more times"
