Video preview freezing when playback speed is adjusted

I have been using Movavi video suite 17 for some months now and very recently (last two times I have went to use it) I am having issues when adjusting the playback speed of a clip ... It seems whenever i try to adjust the playback speed beyond a certain point (say 4x normal speed) the preview video just freezes after 2 - 3 frames. No idea why it has started doing this as it has been fine up until now and i have sped up videos in the past. I am currently editing the individual clips in Movie maker just to get around the problem but it is an inconvenience for a paid product such as this (the whole reason i went to Movavi was the reviews and its capabilities.

Any help on the issue would be great cheers.
