what's the reference on the "woman's face screaming inside the knob" about? i couldn't find anything about it and im pretty curious.

It's a reference to Twin Peaks: https://www.syfy.com/syfy-wire/wtf-moments-when-twin-peaks-turned-josie-packard-into-a-doorknob. Incidentally, the fictional city the game is set in (Twin Lakes) was also inspired by this seminal TV series full of bat guano crazy goings-on. Can't recommend it enough :-D

I have heard of twin peaks before but never got around to watching it, ik it was very influential, even inspiring silent hill if im not mistaken. thanks for clearing that reference out for me!

Twin Peaks is a strange show. You gotta be a David Lynch guy to really buy in. Definitely not for everyone...but that can be said of all his stuff.

There's also multiple Lynch references in the new Case 9 DLC. Clearly the Dev is a fan.
