The end of an era and it sucks it was out of your control but at least I can keep playing on my account!

This game will always have a special place in my heart but will continue to recommend Slayaway Camp to friends!

since some of it is free to play, simply adding it to one's library should be enough to be able to play it later, right? I have the content dlc but not sure if all the chapters are available with in-game unlocks as you progress or they have to be bought, that could use some clarifying.

Yes, I believe adding it to your library should allow you to continue playing it once it comes down. Valve has assured us that people who own the game will continue to have the ability to purchase the DLC from the in-game store, even after it comes down. The first 8 movies will remain free / unlockable by progress, but the bonus 4 DLC level packs will still require purchase to be able to play them.

thanks. it's weird about the in-game store, surely that's also covered by the license, but who am I to argue.

Thank you for your support! Yeah, we really fought our hardest but couldn't renew the license. We explored all options and there was nothing we could do, so sadly the decision was final. Thanks for the Slayaway Camp shoutout too! Happily that's not going anywhere :) (Thankfully we called the Jason Voorhees parody "Hockey Enthusiast" :))

Unfortunately not, we just had them on sale for the Steam Holiday / Winter Sale so we have to wait a period before they can go back on sale again. :(
