Loot System 1.7.1 Theory (not official just how i think it works)
with regards to Blood Lust Level and Non-Recipe Item Trade-Ins
from my testing it appears they have adopted a fill in missing item system

NOTE: this was based on testing done around 5/10/18 and patch version 1.7.1 (beta at the time)

item break down
120 total items
  • 30 recipe items
  • 11 DLC items
  • 7 episode unlocked items
  • 71 'random drop' items
  • 1 fist weapon (not on any list)

Theory
so how i think the system works is that it using a Fill-In missing item method
it appears that whenever you open a crate box via Blood Lust Level gain or Non-Recipe item trade in
the system scans your current inventory for all items that are considered 'Unlocked'
if finds any item with a current inventory count of 0
these items are put at the top of the list for your reward

you start with 71 possibilities
as you progress you will add to the 'Unlocked List'
  • complete the free episodes will add 7 items
  • Buy Jason / Episode DLCs will add 11 items
--- dont think you actually need to complete the DLC episdes
  • create an item using a recipe will add 30 items once all done
--- once you complete a recipe its 'Unlocked' and can be obtained from loot crates
--- extremely helpful for the 6 Recipe Items used as components in other Recipes

NOTE: I do believe it is still weighted toward filling in bronze first (havent really test this aspect)

NOTE: also appears to be a 'Missing Item Threshold' of 100
--- in that the system will follow these guidelines
--- only if have less 100 different items with a count > 0
--- so might take a few tries to get last few items

Conclusion
from my data mining
there are 163 distinct items you would need to get 100% achievement
--- including Hoard - 1 of every item
--- including replacement items for items used in Recipes

Assuming i'm correct in all this and things havent changed since my testing
In theory it should be possible to achieve 100% by Blood Lust Level 200

bloodlust lvl 400
i feel like maybe im cursed
:steamsad:

not cursed just not as lucky as a new player
the level 200 theory is based on a new player who starts gaining items using the new system

fyi i'm up there too Blood Lust Level 375
its from players like us and many others who spoke up and BlueWizard responded
so others wont have to grind like we did and feel disparaged about end game goals

breadstick is what is stopping me from 6 other craft items
the worst was 13 day kill streak
was awarded the golden garden gnome twice
hope its been fixed like you said ^

I got Magic Tome from trading even though I haven't created a single copy of it through recipe. Also, I can't get any of bronze-tiered DLC Jasons weapons to drop, i.e. I haven't received a single copy of Scythe, Broken Bottle, Kris, Meat Hook and Pitchfork through Murder Marathon grind both before and after "drops quality improvement" update (even though I'm at 403 Bloodlust rank). I have two Keytars (Retro Jason) and one Lamp (Electric Jason) from trading, gold DLC weps most likely will drop eventually, so there's definitely a problem with bronze stuff. Am I just extremely unlucky or my copy of the game is bugged somehow?

I don't think your game is bugged, as I've had scythes, broken bottles, meat hooks and pitchforks drop since the patch went live. As frustrating as it is to say it, you might just be getting the shaft now that the game is being less stingy with the silver and gold tier weapons.

based on feedback and some personal testing

non-recipe trade-ins and blood lust level crates
can 'unlock' a recipe item (item you havent crafted yet)
but this appears to be a small percentage chance
as in this would be 'special' result vs fill-in the holes method describe above

Odd thing I've started to notice: apparently as time goes on, the conversion of items starts getting weaker.

Used to be that converting 3 silvers always gave you a gold, but after I got all silvers I'd say once every 4-5 conversions of silvers, I get a gold.

And now that I've got all the bronzes, I trade 3 bronzes... for a bronze a lot of the time.

Kinda makes me wonder if the game isn't skewing the odds against you (again) after a certain point.
Bootch May 22, 2018 @ 4:11pm
but did you get all the non-recipe gold/silver items prior to system going back to bronze items ??

and

how many items do you have in inventory with a count > 0 ??
(sounds like this is a high number -- 90++)

think both things factor into the results of the crates

I have no items with a count of 0 except for Golden Crowbar and Golden Electric Chainsaw (had to lose those to craft other Golden weapons). So yeah, I owned every item at some point at least once. I still have all the bronzes and silvers, plus a handful of dupes that I know I can directly into a gold (like an Oak Staff and a Tome, because I know that I just need a Round Shield to turn it into a Gold Crystal Staff).
Bootch May 22, 2018 @ 4:31pm
so sounds like a couple things can do to get final items
-- daily deaths
-- use your gold dupes as 3 gold should give a random gold
or
-- attempt to use the fill in system
burn bronze items (preferrably the common bronze) to create holes there
during this process at some point will drop below the threshold and the gold items should fill in
at that point burn bronze dupes and marathons to complete the bronze tier again

This is an older thread but the last achievements I have to get are one of every bronze, silver, gold etc. Any advice on how to do this? I've even purchased a pack once and I don't think I earned anything from it. Are there recipes for certain items? TIA.
