Mooring Mode lock up
More info on consequences of mooring mode lock up. i confirm that after mooring with springs, all modes, except anchor, are not available until the springs are removed and (I think) the mooring sequence to stow the lines has been completed,

A couple of days ago I discoverer another consequence of this. I was approaching Fogarty under sail in a light southerly and rounded up and dropped the main and continued to slowly run down to marina under jib with motor on tick over. I then clicked mooring mode and put on fenders and mooring lines. Nearer the marina I tried to furl the jib and clicked sail mode but the message came up saying i could not do anything whilst in mooring mode. My first reaction was with the motor and steering not affected and wind in the south i could moor with the jib up. BUT the mooring panel had gone when i clicked sail and i got the same message when I tried to get back into mooring mode (cant do anything whilst in mooring mode) so I could not complete the mooring sequence, which meant i had to quit the session.

The anchor mode is not affected so I could have anchored and waited until I could contact Chris. Which made me think of one other thing Chris. There appears to be no black ball to hoist or all round white light to display to warn other vessels that you are at anchor. would this be hard to do? ( or haven't i found it )

Every aspect of this sim becomes more and more realistic every time i use it. It far exceeds my expectations.

Actually the Pro add on does allow for mooring and sailing to coexist. I’m not sure if it would do all you want but its fun to dock under sail! It enables you to moor with the centre cleat (the other crew member controls the sails). Once moored you cannot switch to a standard bow / stern / spring set up yet, but that is something for the future.

There are no black ball etc signs. There should be for completeness.

There is an anchor light. The switch is on the chart panel in the cabin.

Many thanks for your support. Obviously eSail does have some limitations you have to work around. Hopefully we can keep building more flexibility into the sailing/mooring over time.
