eSail Sailing Simulator

eSail world
Really considering this title as opposed to Sailaway, I like that Sailaway has the world map which seems to be it's biggest strength but, how big is the eSail world? For instance, how long would it take to sail completely around the map?
Many thanks to all helpful replies in advance.

Shearwater Island is a few miles across, and this is the size of the initial chart you get. After completing the first set of "points of interest" hunting, you get the larger chart with the more remote islands on it. The distance to the nearest of these is about 25 nautical miles; at the boat's hull speed of 6 knots, this will take you over 4 hours. A complete circumnavigation of the chart is likely to take longer than there is daylight in-game.

Dont waste time with sailaway. The physics are terrible, it does not feel like sailing. I sail IRL a 19 foot O'Day Daysailer. ESail is the closest you can get without going in the water. Don't worry about Esails map vs Sailaway. Esail is plenty big enough.

Sailaway is crap compared to eSail

Are there any plans to add a world map to Esail?

Probably not short term. There is so much else to do and frankly Sailaway has a very good implementation of that. However I would like to add real world sailing areas at some point.

It is good idea to create some real world even if it takes a few months. Mayby Croatia?

As a Croat, I'd like to see Croatia implemented very much :steamhappy:
**However, the experience of sailing should come first!**
Perhaps, at some point, the devs could release a tool with which the community could model more and more areas of the world. Maybe even implement real-world meteorological conditions (where data available). But getting physics and realism right gets priority in my book.
