Player Turn Order

Is there an option or a way to change where players are placed for turn order and how the cards are distributed? I played a lot of games with my friends and we found in all our games we were in the same turn order and our card hands were always the same. The same people always got 4 cards and 3 cards in our games.

Came here looking for information on this too. I'm playing the Switch version with a friend, and always playing in the exact same order gets really old really quickly.

Out of curiousity, did you always pick the same characters?
From what I noticed, there's a fixed order when I play, although only offline. (Human player first, CPU in specific order, depending on design).

I assume the game follows the rule of Miss Scarlett being first then Peacock, Plum, Green, Mustard Orchid.
Unless player order is depending on when you joined the game.

We both tried different characters. I also tried renaming my user to make sure it's not just alphabetical order.

Then did your friend join your game or did he create a room by any chance?
That's really the only other thing I can think of.

The player order is determined by the order in which the humans join the lobby, followed by any CPU players. Then the player who starts is determined randomly (the spinner) - this can be a human or CPU player.

If it’s determined by the order players join the lobby in, how do my friend and I always end up with me first, her second regardless of who creates the lobby?

Independently, random order would also be nice because otherwise the last human player is always the only one with an AI as their right hand neighbour.

Does that system not work with less than 6 players? I always had the same person before me and after me no matter who hosted or when they joined, we rarely entered the lobby in the same order. Also the same people always got the same hand card count, is that based off player position as well?

The order is fixed. It doesn't matter what the join order is, it's always the same order of play.
Please please randomise it.

Necro: This would make the game more re playable. This is also stupidly simple to implement, no more then one line of code.

FALSE. Try again. I play with 6 members in my family and we've tried everything from waiting to switching characters etc. We think it may be linked to account name?

Also sorry to necro. Moving the cursor around the player wheel while it "decides" can often result in the player (the one moving their cursor) getting to go first. The "random" starting mechanic is most certainly not random. This may have to do with human vs. AI opponents, but even so...

Specifically I have to ask, for everyone who is in this thread, do you happen to know the order in which people have purchased the game or when each person created an account? Maybe it has to do with who first bought the game or with who first made an account in the game?
