Symbols and Dots
I've looked around, but can't find much info for everything.
First, what do the dots mean that get filled in at the top of the
clue sheets below the other players' icons?

That shows how many of the other player's cards you have seen. If all the dots are colored you can fillin x's in all the emply spaces below. This sometimes helps with the conclusion and can be really really helpful.
