A good piece of advice, I think, would be not to spread yourself too thin when it comes to R&D. You can research stuff here and there when you start the game, but you're gonna hit a wall of sort every 10th floor or so, so ideally after some time you'll want to pick a few weapons and pieces of armor you like and focus your R&D efforts on them so that you don't get destroyed too hard and find yourself with a bunch of useless crap that's too weak to be viable.
It's perfectly possible to go through the game without buying DM, you can make do with what you're given here and there. My advice would be to spend it on storage capacity so that you can stock more R&D material at your home base.
Also, once you're comfortably set, you should consider saving up some Kill Coins and spend 50000 every now and then at the Mushroom Club to get some Premium Decals. Premium Decals are like normal decals, except you don't waste them when your fighter gets killed or you scrap him/her for a better one. You can just take them off whenever you want. Expeditions help when you want to make some KC. I know it sounds like a lot right now, but once you're a bit further in the Tower, it gets more viable.
Whenever you get KC and SPLithium rewards in your reward chute at your base (where you get quest and Expedition rewards and such), don't necessarily grab it all immediately. Only take what you need, when you need it. Otherwise, the more cash and SPL you're holding "on your person", the more tempting a target you'll be for players in need of a quick cash-in, and your base is gonna get attacked.
Save your death metals for storage expantions or blueprints in the vending machine. Revivng is just a waste because you will die multiple times.
Floors 10,20,30 and 40 all have bosses if you're not sure you are ready for them then go back and upgrade you equipment some more you can never be over prepared.
I cant remember the link that has the locations for where to look for materials is but a quick google search will get you it. Floor 3 will be your friend for finding fabric type material like cotton.
You will need to upgrade your coin storage at some point which will require Splithium. The fastest way to farm that is by using the metro to invade other player bases. Downside is once you activate the metro you to will be open to invasions so just before you log out spend any killcoins or Splithium you have. Upgrades can be done in the metro area.
In the vending machine theres a weapon you can buy called the kamas (there are 2 types but this is the better one). If you're planning to play long term this weapon will become your best friend. Its expensive to buy but worth it.
Learn how to dodge or parry attacks. This game is not based around tanking hits but learning how to advoid taking damage. If you want to practice defending against a weapon type have a second fighter equip that weapon and place it in base defense. You can attack your own base as practice without causing any damage.
In the main room you'll see a machine that gives you missions. Check this whenever you play as the event missions can give you Death metal or materials you need for upgrades.
There will be times when you want to rage quit the game. When that happens just return to the lobby and take a break. Trying to progress will only cause you to make mistakes.
When you want to exit the game make sure you are in the lobby or the game will kill your character unless you have a sleeping bag.
Armor durability depletes by number of hits taken not damage done so if you need to smash someones armor quickly use a multi hit weapon like steam iron. ( Upgraded versions can carry you through the floors for a good while.)
The game is rough but beatable if you give it the time. The fights can be challenging but are satisfying. The main thing is to not force progress.
Welcome to Let it die. If you have problems just ask around, the game has a good community full of people that'll help. I'd recommend joining the games reddit page to. You can learn more just by reading the daily posts.
The "best" way is to pay the KC fee. It gets really expensive on higher floors, but you'll not only get your Fighter back, you'll also retrieve their inventory. Pretty useful if you grabbed a bunch of unknown blueprints before dying.
If you kill your "haterified" Fighter, you'll only get the Fighter back, their inventory will be forfeited.
You will need around i say 100-200 for starters , and you need to start leveling collector class
Collect that mats and start upgrading weapons and armors
Focus on 1-2 weapons at the start , same goes for the armor
I sugest Iron for weapon that alone can finish the game for you
if you have a ton of space in the reward box use a one day pass and leave w.e items you want stored in the 10 extra spots. it will give them back in the reward box when the pass expires. also while using a pass any attacks on you while out will be insured and you wont lose anything. just dont waste a pass only for storage. try to line it up with other stuff to get the most out of it.
save gold and silver umbrella shrooms, eat bronze. gold shrooms are worth 50k, silver is 7k,bronze is 2k. they all give 100 xp so id rather eat 2k than 50k. if you save the bronze and give them to newer characters. its a good way to lvl them up faster and get a head start on their stats.
most of your supplies can be bought for 20k coins in 5 packs in the vending machine and single one for 5k in the daily pool in the vending machine. useful for upgrading things faster without needing to grind. there are also rare and useful mushrooms you can buy as well.
lvl up the firework launcher until it has fire properties. then you can use it to shoot any food source cooking it on the spot after you target it. its a good way of getting food fast and not needing to chase it down then find a fire to cook it. plus cooked food gives double the xp so just eat everything after saving a few for hp unless you need the shrooms from them.
You can eat golden animals to earn huge amount of XP for fighters.
Thats best way to level up new fighters fast.
F.Y.I. Eat AFTER you pick new fighter
dont know abouth others.
Also money farm is super easy, tdm all the way. i get 7k per fight (win) + from player but i always attack players with low steal, i dont attack ppl with high amount of money and spilithium, coz im not a wuss :D
but i also have the drill tdm or w/e. it one shots ppl like nothing unless they have really good gear vs it.
