Was running with a 3* lvl 42 fighter maxed hp, str & almost maxed VIT so the difference isn't much since luk and dex don't matter as I'm only melee.
I was using 2* weapons but 1* armor at +4 or something.
The issue isn't the armor not tanking, the issue is that its durability its gone by the time I reach floor 18 and I don't even know if the elevator is on the 18th or 19th.
Only downside is the limited 20 inventory space so would only have like 9 free spots but I'll give it a try
The most obvious tip: check the tower layout map and find which escalator (You won't miss them, they are colored) leads to central area of the upcoming floor. The main elevator should be in that area.
i mean you jsut want to progress right now, you still go back later to farm so you shouldnt worrie about the space :D
Floor 19 will have a Elev. also f20,21,23,25
What's the point of blocking if u can dodge?
-You need to be using Slashing and puncture/range defensive armor for floors 11-20. -MOST- of the D.O.D armor is acually WEAK towards both, and depending on your armor, you could be upwards to -20% towards slashing, leading to a TON of OHKO situations from the claw bots, and far worse from snipers. I'd almost recommend checking your armor's type defenses, and stack up as much slashing resistance as you can, while doing your best to keep an eye out for range attacks, as the armor that best reisist that isn't till after the second Don.
-You also gotta just accept that some runs is going to be you bypassing a ton of would be great loot to pick up. Blueprints are vital, and should be tried to hold onto if it's a '??????' one by all accounts, but you should really be using your scouter's for floor exploration and climbing, given they tend to have high health, and all of those inventory slots to haul stuff back to base and to ensure you've got shrooms as 'the key towards your success'. Otherwise if you feel better climbing with like a Defender or something, you're just going to bite the bullet and accept that you're going to fill your gear slots before you even start climbing.
-Make use of mushrooms and decals. Got deathshrooms? Slap on a poison eater decal and when you see a group, toss one into it and then run on in to make them breath in the fumes while you start recovering and tanking. If you're already past floor 11, farm decoyshrooms and make GOOD use of those. Even if the foe -sees- you, they will attack that first, and if you cook em before using them, they even have more health! At that stage bombshrooms already are too weak to be very useful, but there's the new eletroshrooms you should be making good use of for free 500-ish damage depending on the armor your foes are wearing ( and in the case of the bots, extra damage! ). Also those damage resistance 50% mushrooms are VERY vital. Go back towards the early floors and farm those if you find yourself still taking too much damage, and just SWALLOW them all down at once after getting off the elevator, as mushroom timers STACK. If it says 45 second, each one ADDS another 45 seconds towards the timer, so stuffing 8 of them is a solid 6 minutes of talking half damage.
Also one last thing, hit the key to see your map, while in your waiting room. This brings up both the normal map (on the left) AND the elevator map (on the right). On a PS4/XB1 controller, it's down on the D-Pad when not near anything to interact with it.
- his homing dash is ALWAYS followed by 2 close range attacks. Be prepared to dodge roll/dash out of range and then counter if you have a fast hitting weapon like Machete, Iron etc
- his spinning aerial claw move I just run backwards and then rush him as SOON as he lands
- his rolling one isn't too bad to dodge just back away and then hit him while he's recovering
If you have a Flame Wand that's a CLEAN counter to his "invulnerability" block, as it doesn't block fire damage. ;) If it doesn't 1 shot him them 2-3 plus the damage over time will finish him off.
A few final tips:
- Which class of fighter you're using? For tankiness you'll want to use Collector and Defender, as they have the most HP in the game out of all the classes, but All Rounder 3* is also pretty decent HP wise. If you're going Striker/Attacker etc that's fine, just bear in mind you have less HP for more atk power so you gotta be on point with your dodges, more so than Collector and Defender.
- you do not have to kill EVERY enemy, only those who are in your way. This will help you preserve your armor's durability especially when it's low. Also leaving "one alive" means that you won't get Jackals for that floor as long as the enemy lives, best one for those are the Scratch Tubers (the tall claw bots) as they're slow af
- Struggling in a 1v2 or worse? Friendly fire is a thing in the tower, ABUSE it. You can make the AI kill each other by timing your dodges/dashes so they cluster close to each other and make them hurt each other. :D Sadly FF doesn't work in TDM though i.e. raids, but CC (Crowd Control) effects still work though i.e. knockdowns from Kamas rage move, stun from Iron's rage move and so on.
- Raymar's tip is correct, I dunno if you're using controller or keyboard, but on PS4 controller press Down to bring up the Area/Floor Map (on keyboard press M), look at where the coloured lines (escalators) lead to. If they converge towards the centre then you've got an elevator coming up! But after 18th floor you're home free anyway elevator wise. (Y)
i thought -% is like you get less dmg from specific types :O so it has to be +% for better resitance ? no wonder than i had to cash that much in for revives at some points when i picked the extra weak armor XD
