I just died.
This.
There's no indication when you get revived, so if you're getting stuck in a combo, you still die anyway, since you revive and you take another lethal hit.
I think there should be a visual efect when you're actually getting revived. Not that it would save you from death in a 2/3 hits combo, but I've been dead for not seeing that my character used the shroom to revive. Meaning I still thought the shroom was still active, but it wasn't.
If used, they definitely do work.
Of course, what Aletheia wrote applies.
If you have 2000 health and eat a grilled lifeshroom (50%) then basically while you have the buff, you have 3000 health instead of just 2000. If you take a hit that takes you passed that 3000, it will trigger and give you the health but you will still die.
It is just a temporary bonus health buff. You don't go down and get revived, you just see a quick flash like oh healing as if you finished eating something. If the hit doesn't take you passed the temporary limit then you will have some life leftover.
Another example just to be clear, again 2000 hp. Gold lifeshroom this time (100%). This would mean 4000 hp total. You are at full and take a hit for say 3000 hp. You will see a flash of healing and no longer have the buff but have 1000 hp.
It is just a quick heal the moment you hit 0 hp. The only thing that bypasses it is the decal to nullify lifeshroom or the forceman abilities that clear the buff. It always triggers, but it is only trying to heal you for however much life, which might not be enough life.
