us this handy guide it shows you a full map of the tower

but it wont show you which ways are currently locked since you need to beat certain bosses for certain floors to unlock

If i were you i would stick to one wepon to upgrade, i reccomend the hot iron or the pickaxe

you can use which ever wepon if you'd like tho but bosses have weakeness to certain wepon types

https://letitdie.gamepedia.com/Enemies#Mid-Bosses

see link for more info

this game is very easy once you get a good hang of it just take it slow NEVER rush this is a dark souls like game especially with bosses.

what i did before going onto the 11th 21st and 31st floors is i maxed out and +4 all wepons and armor that way when i go to the next floor i atleast have some defense

also please be even more careful on the 20th+ floors because once your fighters die you'll have to spend 40k to get them back so just take things slow and steady and use mushrooms

i cannot stress you enough how good the mushrooms are you should always carry around healing mushrooms and buff mushrooms when in boss fights. some mushrooms stack in time so if the mushroom is 30 seconds and you use another it increases to 60 seconds

good luck out there!

Floor 4 is a tricky one if you're new and even my Player Log file showed most of my deaths were from there for a while (nowadays it's Kaga apparently LUL). Nowadays I've beaten the 40th floor on PS4 and have 1k hours in LID, but Tagahara is pretty rough if you're new. Some tips I learned from experience on Tagahara:

- with the water section that has metal planks you can climb to and jump across, go forward a bit on the planks but not ALL the way. Try to lure a maximum of 3 enemies out at a time, and if you're struggling Fireworks Launcher's or Iron's rage move is handy in a pinch

- with the water section with the crane you can jump onto, again don't rush out, move out slowly, in fact rotate the camera to "corner peek" so you can see them before they see you. Agro them to you one at a time

- the multiple enemies behind the wooden boxes section is also tricky if you're underlevelled and new. Again Fireworks Launcher will be your best friend especially with the rage move, same with Iron. If not well the Hammer is decent, but you gotta mind the distance and use the melee enemies as a meatshield vs the fireworks ones

- you don't have to face ALL enemies. There's the ones in the side rooms (2 per room) through the fog where you can either sneak attack them or go past the side rooms and they'll be none the wiser. Do this if you're low on HP and can't find a heal shroom or beast to replenish your HP

- Joten-Jima is where you wanna go, the game devs were cruel enough to let you "find it out on your own". You probably went Somagawa hence the dead end you experienced

Get to floor 6 and you'll be home free after Tagahara and floor 5. :) Hope this helps.
I use two hand weapon, don't forget to use your fury special attacks. Just try to use everything you have and you'll beat 3 enemies at the same time without receiving any hit.

1) dont forget to use shrooms. stomping a frog gives you a frongus that does an aoe tear gas effect (short duration stun, but its powerful if you cook them). stomping rats gives off a rage bar refill mouseshroom. boomshrooms are effective when dealing with crowds of annoying robot thingies.

2)manage your pulls

3) sneaking is pretty neat. you forego the mastery points you'd gain through normal kills (assuming your sneak attacks did the killing) but you dish out pretty heavy damage

4) master weapons. fists count as a weapon to be mastered (as the only weapon that doesnt break, its good to master)

5) do some R&D. while slow, this boosts your equipments' power and adds up in the long run

6) block instead of dodgerolls. unless youre dealing with a ranged enemy, blocking is normally better (even better if you can figure out perfect blocks with stagger enemies and cancel out damage completely. atleast, for humanoid melee)

That isn't great advice, no offense. It's honestly far better to take no damage from dodge rolling/jumping instead of take 50% less damage (unless you're cornered, but even then you have sweeping attacks like hammer's side swing or AOE attacks like Iron's rage move). Even if your HP doesn't take much of a nicking, your armor's durability certainly will, and when that s*** breaks, you're gonna take way more damage when naked even if you're blocking. Dodging via jumping consumes no stamina also as long as you're not holding down sprint whilst jumping.

Most the vets I know prefer to dodge roll or just backpedal/jump dodge attacks instead of just block their way through the game, really. And Perfect Guard, as handy as it is? You'd have to learn the syncing for EVERY weapon, Hammer and Bat honestly aren't too bad to learn Perfect Guard timing but ♥♥♥♥ like the knife is nearly impossible to parry, machete has a really stupid 50/50 where normal slash is a bit early synced, but the jump attack is on sync/slightly late...basically it isn't worth your time as the syncing is sooo inconsistent for Perfect Guard.

Hold Y and press the attack buttons. Rage is the top left.

sure i see what youre talking about, this very much depends on the fight youre dealing with as well. but if you dont learn to use blocks and power guards early on then youll just ignore them and find yourself dodge rolling yourself into a corner and getting pounded.

im not a vet at all, im only at tier 2 and mostly grinding up my R&D rather than progress through the tower (and wasting too much time on the power guard quest). but i see sticking too much to dodging to be an issue just as it is for blocking.

By all means round yourself off if you wanna, but I rarely see the vets using blocks at all to be honest, they just use their overpowered gear to steamroll through enemies and dodge roll/jump to evade where necessary. I myself use a parry heavy combat style but some attacks simply cannot be blocked at all, period. And some weapons later on in the game, even IF you block or Perfect Guard them you'll just get poisoned or catch on fire. I can't nor won't personally stop you, but as someone who's landed like 11k+ parries on the PS4 version and STILL can't hit them 100% of the time, they're just too broken to be used "on command".

Play the game however you wish, but if you're expecting Perfect Guard and blocks to be sunshine and rainbows filled experience, you'll be bitterly disappointed like I was. Perfect Guard is doable and I still use it, but painful to learn and use is all I'm saying.
