Landinar: Into the Void

Was the game abandoned?
Are the developers still working on the game? I do not see any information from them about new updates.

I don't think so; after the game was officially released from Early Access on May 1st, they've had a few updates since then. Check the News page for the game from Steam.

The last update was on May 15 and with very little to add to a game that came out of early access and finished. And they do not even post here on steam anymore. For me it is a situation of apparent abandonment since the game still seems to be like in early access.

Early access games can not be trusted. One more that will turn to dust. In this case I think even worse, because these developers ran and gave as finalized an unfinished game.

Well they didn't run, they just didn't have enough money to run or finish their business and their main code writer had a burnout.

It's the same story as many other devs - they just run out of money.

They hope that EA will fund the rest of the development costs - and when it doesn't - they company folds.

That's just how it goes.

What do you expect the devs to do? They have rent to pay and need food to eat.

I am not defending them, but you knew what you signed up for when you bought an EA title.

"You should be aware that some teams will be unable to 'finish' their game."

This is one of those cases.

Now personally, I think that in THOSE cases Valve should stop selling the game OR mark it as an Abandoned Early Access title.

Either way, the reality is that most indie devs fail. This is business as usual and it's just that - business.

So there's no more bug fixes and content for this?
I just picked it up... been playing for the last week. its a really fun game, but Im finally running into bug issues like targets not selecting, game freezing under large battles, etc and its NOT my PC. My PC can handle anything out there on high settings... like i cannot repair my ship at most stations/repair areas.

It would be a bummer if it was abandoned...I'm really enjoying the game :/

The game can be completed at least, I just finished it recently; I was enjoying it a lot despite the bugs.

But the last couple of missions are a bit frustrating due to dropping down to single digit fps in a few spots both on station and in the space battles. Standard ran out of time to optimize I guess.

The game is a waste of time. Rushed and unfinished. Scamdinar Avoid......

Basically, DEVs ran out of money and decided to release game in unfinished state to generate funds.

This is the exact type of developers you want to Avoid.

This is why I removed the game from my wish list. Very happy I did not purchase game.

Still better than the @zzholes working for the mandate, they left us with nothing, not even a word and their game was never made to be played.

the mainazzhole is their CEO
https://fr.linkedin.com/in/kirchmayer
is not even mentioning the mandate and so his scam on his linkedin profile.

he is doing well with the money he stole to the backers.

Those f&%king bastards took over $700k from Kickstarter and just sodded off with everyone's money. The worst kind of criminal scam artist (kinda like the AirBnB scam artists too, the Pashanin brothers who stole $40k from KS for "Confederate Express" whilst squatting and refusing to leave an AirBnB rental) -- they deserve the noose or a bullet, IMO. I'm tired of fraudsters ripping people off and getting away with it.

A scam is intentional fraud, and that doesn't seem like what's going on at all. Instead, this appears to be the result of a small team that genuinely wanted to make this game, but mismanaged the development and resources.

Of course the game is still unfinished and people should know that before considering ever buying it. It's a very valid reason not to buy it! However, you shouldn't conflate and/or confuse well meaning incompetence with willful deception.

Agreed, I've seen nothing with Landinar that would seem anything like a scam - it's just a small team that unfortunately didn't make the revenue they were hoping :(
