Same problem, that fix didn't fix it for me. Found the files, deleted them, still doesn't launch,

Double check the location you deleted the files from because I believe they exist in more than one folder.

^That's right. There is one instance of them in the main folder and another also in Userdata/default folder.

Weird; this should ensure double security but instead creates double troubles. I think it is on Steam end but... well it ends up on everyone's end.

^It's a problem with a plugin that allows Steam achievement integration. Sadly the support for it hasn't been very good and trying to do a 4-way compatibility between 4 different third party programs is a nightmare. I am considering maybe to forego Steam achievements for my next project altogether so to save everyone the trouble with this.

This is sad but I understand. Especially that Steam peeved me out from your latest card released. And I am a collector of everything Astronomically nice ^^
