I'll mention all the parts where you can gain or lose trust with crewmates in these early scenes:
Ship dock:
Saying "At least my barber didn't mess up." - Loses 1 pt with Lucas
Saying "I'm badass on the inside." - Gains 1 pt with Lucas
Saying "Nice to meet you, Alelaira." - Gains 1 pt with Aleira
Saying "Can we just get going?" - Loses 1 pt with Aleira
Ship tour:
Saying "Great, and where is yours?" when Aleira is telling you about your room - Gains 1 pt with her.
Saying "My name is Edan. Nice to meet you." - Gains 1 pt with Ilana.
Saying "And who is the tomboy with mech arms?" - Loses 1 pt with Cassana.
Saying "And who is the tough lady next to Ilana?" - Gains 1 pt with Cassana.
Saying "Thanks for the welcome, Tero." - Gains 1 pt with Tero.
Saying "I'm ready to get started." - Gains 1 pt with Blaine.
Walking around on your own and talking to the crew:
Saying "You're fascinating." to Tero - Gains 1 pt with her (Requires at least 1 pt in Engineering for this dialogue option to appear)
Saying "Great people, as I can tell." - Gains 1 pt with Ilana.
If you gained both trust points with Aleira earlier, you automatically get 1 pt with Elosys in the first conversation with him (since you've been nice to his sister).
Saying "She's charming herself." - Gains 1 pt with Aleira (Requires at least 1 pt in Charisma for this dialogue option to appear)
Saying "Well, lovely to talk to you both." - Gains 1 pt with Aleira and Elosys.
When Lucas riles up Cassana:
Saying "You should be nice to her." - Gains 1 pt with Cassana, but Loses 1 pt with Lucas.
Saying "Yeah, you're right." - Gains 1 pt with Lucas, but Loses 1 pt with Cassana.
If you stay silent, you neither gain nor lose any points.
So, the most difficult one here would be Lucas and Cassana, since you only get no more than 1 point with each of them during the tour of the ship. So when you speak to them later and Lucas riles up Cassana, siding with either one of them, will cause the other to lose a little bit of trust, meaning it will be less than 1. So your only option here not to annoy either of them is to stay silent.
And of course, make sure you've gained at least 1 point with the others too.
You get only 1 opportunity with Blaine, 2 opportunities with Ilana, Elosys, and Tero, and 4 opportunities with Aleira.
I hope this helps!
That is almost certainly the spot that got me - so yep, you pointed it out perfectly in the last bit.
Thanks a lot for the tips! This is really a great game. Deserves more attention for sure! I'll probably be curating/reviewing another you sent over as well (Snares of Ruin Zero), since I liked this game so much. I think it would be time well spent. It's been a while since I accepted Pegasus-5, so apologies for the delay (probably around late summer got/accepted curator connect offer). Possibly will look into Snares of Ruin itself too, since I have this from a bundle at some point. Off-tracking a bit, but looking forward to these as well as my backlog/playtime permits!
I'll have something up over the next couple of days though, since I've had fun with this game.
Not often that I'll play beyond the initial story - since I have a lot on the backburner, but I felt this one deserved a lot of attention, and I couldn't stop playing! Again, very awesome game!
I hope you like both Snares of Ruin games too. If I may suggest, it's better to play original Snares of Ruin first, because Snares of Ruin Zero reveals more of the backstory, so some of the twists and plot from the first game might be spoiled for you.
Thanks for the tip before I personally got on a small research about if it is better to play the other first. Rough one today, but I'll be glad when I have some time to mull over my thoughts on Pegasus-5 and get them out in a presentable format.
One thing that might feel a bit strange is that Snares of Ruin Zero isn't quite an RPG like Snares of Ruin 1 and Pegasus-5. It plays more like a point-and-click visual novel as I couldn't provide too much variation in how the story shapes up, because we already know the state of the events after it (when Snares of Ruin 1 takes place). Regardless, I hope you'll enjoy both of them, whichever order you'll decide to play them in.
In case you are interested in my thoughts on the game, my review has been posted here!
