COD 4 not runing on windows 8

I did an upgrade to Windows 8 and after this COD4 didn't run anymore, with no error messages. Anyone with same problem? I tried to chandge iw3mp compatibilitie mode to Windows 7, Vista and others, but with no results. I really don't know what I can do...

You are right Yumz... I needed make a downgrade to windows 7, and Install windows 8 into other partition. Microsoft sucks...

I disagree Michownage1337... windows 8 presents some novelties that may become standard in near future. And furthermore I was already a linux fanboy, and I still use Ubuntu and I can talk that the support to games is incipient still in it. With Valve initiative, this tends become better, but for now isn't good.

The only problem i have with punkbuster ist @ cod4 all other games are running on windows 8!
And that's not the problem from microsoft, it's a problem of punkbuster.

also, if you are having issues with cod not opening at all, check the game cache. If that doesnt work uninstall and install again.

As for all the Windows 8 haters, LOL. Its a new operating system and Gabe is mad because Microshaft is integrating a digital download manager that threatens the future of steam.

Windows 8 and Windows 7 are almost the same bloody thing! Most people are just being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the lack of a Start Menu, but heres the thing, you can get rid of the Metro Start and add the menu back..

but hey, most of you are prepubescent children that couldnt install notepad++ if there wasnt a youtube video showing you how to do it xD

Well, I did it, checked the game cache and ran it on compatibility mode, but I received the message of crash IW3mp.It maybe a miss configuration of video drivers on Windows 8, or something like it. I'm planning install windows 8 in another partition (clean install) and after That I'll do it, I can post here the results. Regards

Well, as I expected, in a clean install of windows 8, steam and COD4 ran without any issues. Punkbuster didn't show any bug and did its job. So, if anyone will install windows 8, do it as a clean instalation, no by an upgrade. If you upgrade from windows 7, many of your games could don't run anymore, even you reinstall them.

Almost none of games will work on W8 because they first have to be adapted to the new OS (apparently win32 is removed which makes everything different).

So guy, all my games ran in a clean install, but not ran in a install of an upgrade from windows 7. The list of games isn't large: BF3, COD4, Nexuiz, CS:GO, Wolf ET and mods, Halflife and mods, Homefront and others. These titles only ran in a clean install, so I believe that the problems are caused by some misconfigurations that an upgrade don't can fix.

bRVnuk? lol microsoft sucks cuz i cant run a game in a fresh SO? dude that is not problem of Windows, that is a PunkBuster problem and they have lunch a new version ...just to work on W8....Think a little bit.
