Well, if you're talking about server mods like Promod Live 2012, then I'd probably have to say Undead Region Zombie Mod, I think that's what people call it. Second would have to be Paintball mod.

Obviously the galactic star wars mod was by far the most fun and best, it was epic, still around today but unfortunately if you can find a sever it usually only has 4 ppl in :( . Promod overall has been the most popular mod espeically in the competitive side of call of duty, no other cod game has been as competitive as cod4 and it's all thanks to promod which is still very popular. The modern warfare mod is really sweet aswell since it brings in the best maps/guns/perks from the newer modern warefare games into cod4, and you can literally start again in the warefare mod since you can unlock all the stuff through progression like regular cod which kinda makes the mod like a whole new game xD. There is a plenty of other mods like deathrun/paintball/zombies.

Actually I started using mods about 2-3 months ago after a couple of years of gaming vanilla CoD4 I got a little bored of it, and I didn't want to quit. So I started playing Zombie mod. And I got to say, I like the zombie mods on CoD4 more than I like the default Zombies on Black ops.
