Uncap FPS limit?
What's the console code to uncap FPS? I'm trying to record at 100 FPS, and the game runs at 45 max right now.

Do it in the config file.

What should be the prefix? And I open it with notepad?

Yes notepad.

If you're trying to record via Fraps, perhaps you need to set the FPS limit to 100? Is your computer capable of running the game above 45fps when recording? Perhaps your power is tapped out. However, the console command to uncap FPS(if you hardware can pump out that many FPS) is com_maxfps 100

make sure to type /com_maxfps 125 or whatever you want. not sure what specs your computer has. but when using a recorder like fraps or xfire it will draw away from the fps. not sure why your game is at 45 when i believe 60 or 85 or something is the normal default.

again make sure you have the backlash there / not \. and then type the command in. you type this in the ingame console.

My computer Runs CoD 4 at 125 when set to low settings. At max settings it runs everything at 95.

After a bit a research i found out that typing in com_maxfps 0 actually uncaps FPS so that it is limitless.

You can turn that off the config file. No need for commands.

yes this will uncap it completely but also makes the game much more unstable. 125 fps seems to work fine and not needed to be above that. also remember when you do record again you will get a huge drop in fps. if you are only able to run the game at 95 fps with settings maxed out then recording will drop down to 60 or so.

also make sure vsync is off.

What does Vsync do? I set my recording to 60 fps, and my game runs at 95 fps just fine. The only problem is that the file size is ginormous.

Stops screen tearing. If you knock it off you may get tearing but higher FPS.

I'll try it out.

it also makes your game run at your monitor rate. so if you have a 60 hz monitor it will try to sync the game to run at 60 fps. if you are trying to run the game higher then that like 125 fps it can cause a lot of lag.

Also whatever you are recording with might be doing it. I use fraps and for some reason if it's set to record at 60 fps then in game my computer will run at 60 fps.
