Game is stuttering
I just got the game. it's quite old game, and I have no problem with other games. I can feel it it's not about my system's spec. The symptom's like this, It's stuttering constantly but not badly. it's like the max fps of the game is fixed to 20 or something like that. No problem to play the game but it's kind of annoying. You know every FPS player is sensitive on the frame rates right? I tried to search for some fix on the web but I failed. Is there anyone who knows about this issue? need help.

PC specs?

Laptop. You would say it's because my rig is a laptop? but I've experienced this stuttering problem before. at the very first time the game was released. It's a shame I played the pirated version. Anyway there was a same issue, at that time I was using a desktop.

and the other day I tried the game with another pc and there was no problem at all. So I can tell you it's stuttering now again definitely. I remember I was relieved about stuttering was gone.

Now I'm using a laptop. Intel core i5 2.40GHz processor, 4g ram, Gforce gt 330m. I can even play Max Payne 3, Unreal 3, Saints Row the third, Splinter Cell Blacklist, etc with this laptop. Well.. I have to play Blacklist with lowest settings though.

I'd say the problem is your graphics card.

Update your drivers.

If it's because of Mobile card, then I can't fix it. cuz my driver is up to date already.

Then you need a better system.

for 6 year old game xD
Alternatively (if you know someone/someplace that won't try charging you something disproportionate, like more than the computer's worth xP), swapping your graphics card for a more powerful one is also possible and would be an efficient solution. Most likely would also require a more powerful charger as well, though that shouldn't be *too* costly.

Then again, only worth it if the upgrade isn't overpriced to more than a whole better system.

I don't know, maybe I'll need a graphic card supported by the game and it could be a powerless one. Thx anyway but it doesn't help. I need some fix. not hardware exchange, cuz you can't exchange any part of your laptop. especially if it's a graphics card that the part you want to change is.
I'll just play with this issue. T-T
I already thought this was weird, looked a bit more into the issue and it turns out the GT330M should be able to run CoD4 fluently at medium settings and still be playable on high settings. (see Game Benchmarks section here: http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-330M.22437.0.html )
This rules out insufficient hardware capability, but with the info I got I can't think of any new possible cause :S

I have no idea neither. I was just wondering that there's anybody else experiencing same issue. and maybe a solution too.
I had a very similar issue but with another game. While playing F.E.A.R., framerate just didn't feel smooth. A framerate counter confirmed it was "capped" at 22 fps for some reason. The cause of the problem turned out to be a software conflict, apparently because F.E.A.R.'s code isn't in good terms with Logitech mice/keyboards xP
The workaround is easy enough, fortunately. Posted here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/21090/discussions/0/792924953022443757/#c666824800462399853
With some luck that might even fix your problem. Worth a shot imo.

Otherwise I suggest you submit a support ticket or something, your comp *really* should be able to run this game smoothly.

Thank you very much. I just got a chill, I'll try your tip. I'm using Logitech mouse myself. and the stuttering problem is only occures when I look around. No frame drop is there when I walk or run. I think it will do the job.

Sorry that I am two years late, I played this game a few years ago on another account and it worked flawlessly. I realized when i tried playing on ingame 640x480 resolution, there was constant stuttering in SP and some in MP. I changed my ingame resolution to 800x600, it works fine now.

Thank you for the help. Actually it was a mouse problem. I just had to check the mouse smoothing option off to fix it.
