How to find steam CD key?
Hey guys, I bought the CD version and Steam version of CoD4, just wondering where I can find my Steam key?

With the steam key you launch mutliplayer. Goto options. Goto Multiplayer. There shoul be an option for cd key. It is usually filled auto by the steam download..

You might be able to find it thru the regedit as well searching for 'codkey' without the quotes.

You can find it in the registry editor no problems at all. It should auto activate though.

Alright thanks you two. I'm using the CD KEY and not the STEAM KEY. Trying to find the steam one. Will update.

Open regedit


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > Activision > Call of Duty 4

i did the regedit thing and it doesnt show a cd key in there

Hold on wait.
So I also bought a Copy of call of duty 4 a long time ago.
The key format on the book is = 1234 - 1234 - 1234 - 1234 - 1234
And you guy are talking about finding the key ?
I tried my code on steam and it dit not work.

Also the steam retail steam page says this is the cod 4 format
1AB2C-D3FGH-456I7

So I am lost can I use my retail key on steam :S???

That is one possible format for the key, if the key is like the one yours is like, it can't currently be activated on Steam.
