COD 4 multiplayer still alive in 2023?

Hi everyone, are the multiplayer servers in modern warfare still active for PC? After they updated the Xbox servers, I’ve been itching to play.

Curious about this too, no idea whether steam servers and gamepass pc servers are crossplay with eachother.

The steam servers are active I've been playing the last few days on cod 4 and MW 2 (old version) MW 2 only free for all or TDM is active i find cod 4 is more active servers then MW

I cant seem to get any CoD on Xbox game pass?
Im in Ireland and I have game pass ultimate and none have been added for me is it region locked or will I get them in a few days?

Depends what are your expectation. Most servers who have players are hardcore ,or some sort of mod on it . Killstreaks are a joke on these servers, probably half the kills.
If you want to play it for old time sake , it is nothing like before.

I found a genuine gun game server which is pretty chill some servers are either hacked but if you filter punk buster youll be alright. Id say give it a go. I play for nostalgia but one or two servers i joined I got spawn trapped and or spawned in the same location and instantly sniped but theres some good servers with active members and discords that you can join.

The dedicated servers with discords normally dont allow cheats or hacks and if detected you get kicked.

Im only really playing because i'm awaiting parts for my new PC

if you wanna play Call Of Duty youd be best getting WaW and playing zombies with friends theres loads of custom maps. But then again its 20 on steam. I got WaW and Cod 4 and MW on a sale years ago

I have just got on Steam after AGES !!!
i have been playing COD4 MW the 1.8 version and I can only play on like 2 servers and they are only FREE FOR ALL, and the rest of the servers I cant open at all as it freezes on me,
I have downloaded the 1.7 as well but I still get the same error and I really want to play

I read an article saying it could be a long time before any CODs come out on the game pass. I have no idea how true it is but it said it had to do with the UK version of the FTC having a problem with Microsoft acquiring Activision so for the time being no CODs on gamepass :(

There would be no crossplay they are ran through the same Activision server

quite a few servers yesterday alot are mod maps bt some are good . gun game free for all lots playing on cod 4 not been able to get on modern warfare 2 mp servers are are down
