Choppy mouse movement
For some reason when I play most games and FPS like this in particular my mouse movement is really jerky and it becomes unplayable. Strange thing is it's not a problem when I'm doing regular things besides games. Maybe my mouse is faulty, any suggestions?

1. Which brand and type (optical, laser etc.) of mouse are you using?
2. Does it have a selectable DPI?
3. Does it have a polling rate?
4. Could it be the Windows acceleration? Try using this to disable it:

5. Have you updated your mouse drivers at all?

turn off vsync, turn on dual graphics cards (even if you dont have them) and type in console /com_maxfps 250

well the maxfps depends on how good a pc is. if it can handle that sure. if not, dont stress out your graphics card.

as for the issue, as said above in first post. check to make sure your mouse is updated. i have a logitech G502 mouse for instance and had a similar issue. found out, the software was bad basically. it was supposed to auto update but it was not. others had the same issue as well. they finally said we had to re download the software, which then when launched updated the firmware and fixed the problem.

another thing to check, you may need to also calibrate the mouse with the mouse pad you are using. i use a large razer speed pad and my mouse would have issues while gaming with skipping as well. calibrated to the mouse pad and it worked as well.

my other issue that required the reinstall, was that my mouse would all of a sudden just go off in a different direction. would happen maybe every few minutes so was still playable.

I have mouse lag and v synch off + dual graphics cards on seems to help. But why enable smooth mouse ? It's bad.

It works great for me always has but I have heard from another poster that it was bad. Care to shed a little light on why its bad
Wow this is an old post, I think I actually figured out what the issue was. It was simply that I switched the usb port I was using for my wireless mouse at the time.

In my case it was because I had Special K injecting into the game.

Had the same probleme, my mouse polling rate was 1000 and it was the issue, setting it to 500 resolved it

Well aware. The point is to provide the information for people who stumble upon this through google, years later.... Like me.
