Try updating PB yourself, also checking your verion of the game. 1.7
And last, if you still can't join, search any COD4 multiplayer servers on google, Gametracker for example, and join via copy paste the ip on COD4 pressing ~ and typing /connect [ip]
If that doesn't work, no idea at all.

1.) I have deleted the whole PB folder all of it. (I am running the game without PB)
2.) I can't start the game! "iw3mp.exe has stopped working"
Just plug something into your mic jack or enable "Stereo Mix" in the Control Panel.
Go to the "Control Panel".
Go to "Hardware and Sound".
Then double click on "Sound".
Then click the "Recording"-tab.
When you have done that, right click and then select "Show disabled devices".
Then when stereo mix comes up, enable it and it will work fine.
I know this sounds weird, but it does work.
Awesome :)

once installed run this exe: http://official-gaming.net/cod4/files/pbsvc.exe
the exe tests all PB services and tells you their status.
